aypal for Steve Gardner (corrected)

Tony Snow has provided us the information that so many of you have been asking for in order to help Steve Gardner:

Here's the info I have from Steve. He has a paypal account through his email: sgardner5@carolina.rr.com; there's also a snail-mail address: P.O. Box 908; Clover, SC 29710.

P.S. Tony has made me a hero at home. He's coming through on the autographed photo for Mrs. Trunk.

UPDATE: We have corrected the email address above; we had originally omitted the "s" in "sgardner5@carolina.rr.com." It now reads correctly.

This is my first time i ever done this but I feel steve gardner needs help and if everyone that voted for President Bush gave one dollar it would show liberals that we conservatives take care of our own and those that speak out for the truth and are punished by the liberals for doing so

The day after Gardner came out against Kerry, he was fired from his job. After that, he has been on the speaking circuit for Swift Vets I believe.

I would assume some rich Republican would hire this guy. But in the interim, cash would be helpful; he deserves our thanks.

He was the man who first told about the story of Kerry killing someone in VN. I don't remember if it was the kid running when Kerry shot him in the back or the man he shot who later turned out to be holding a baby. But Gardner was an eye witness and he spoke up and disputed Brinkley's book account. He was fired from his job. I heard him speak and found him to be credible. The person who posted this info, however, is a newbie as of today, so this info should be verified. Gardner, though, is one of the good guys.

Steve Gardner is the Swift Vet who served as the gunner in John Kerry's boat in Vietnam. He's the only one in Kerry's immediate circle of influence who denounced him as unfit to command (as did virtually all the other Swift Vets).

The story of Gardner's involvement in the campaign and the price he paid can be found here.

Steve's a good guy. If conservatives can help him get back on his feet, that certainly seems worthwhile.

If he worked in an at-will state, then I would think there's no ground. There's the age thing, but he would have to prove a pattern of firing because of age discrimination.

Days later, Brinkley called again, warning Gardner to expect some calls. It seems Brinkley had used the "fact checking" conversation to write an inflammatory article about Gardner for Time.com. The article, implying that Gardner was politically motivated, appeared under the headline "The 10th Brother." Twenty-four hours later, Gardner got an e-mail from his company, Millennium Information Services, informing him that his services would no longer be necessary. He was laid off in an e-mail -- by the same man who only days before had congratulated him for his exemplary work in a territory which covered North and South Carolina. The e-mail stated that his position was being eliminated. Since then, he's seen the company advertising for his old position. Gardner doesn't have the money to sue to get the job back. "I'm broke. I've been hurt every way I can be hurt. I have no money in the bank but am doing little bits here and there to pay the bills," he said. All the millions of dollars raised by Gardner and his fellow Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and all the proceeds from John O'Neill's book, Unfit for Command, go to families of veterans, POWs and MIAs.
