Muslim clerics and scholars meeting in Libya from around the world Tuesday denounced attempts to link Islam to terrorism.Sounds good, problem is that they say one thing to the non-Muslim world and say something entirely different to Muslims.

How come we use their arabic numbers Those came before Islam. The script probably did too, but it had no advantage over existing European alphabits. The numbers were much better than Roman Numerals, if only for doing arithmetic. It wasn't so much the symbols, but the decimal system used to represent numbers 10 or larger. "X + X = XX isn't so bad, but try XII + VX without converting to arabic decimal notation. (Answer is XXVII, but I cheated by converting) Forget multiplication or division!

The conferees, some 500 clerics and scholars from 120 countries, condemned all aspects of injustice, enmity and the use of force such as invasions, sieges and wars in violation of international norms and principles, stressing that "developments in Palestine and Iraq are examples of injustice targeting Muslims."
