Jews fear being a visible minority, because it's led to suffering in the past. Diluting Christmas with menorahs, or even suppressing Christmas, obscures Jews' minority status, so they feel safer.

If Jews fear being a visible minority, then why do they call attention to themselves by suppressing Christmas and pissing off the majority of Christians? It seems to me that they should be doing the exact opposite and keep their noses out of other peoples business. Now this leads me to another observation. Why would Jewish pressure groups, such as the ADL, legislate hate-crime laws which have led to Christians being arrested for preaching the Gospels? If Jews are so worried about being victims, why are they alienating Christians by outlawing their Bible? Are we supposed to thank you for passing unconstitutional laws that persecute us? How would Jews like it if a Christian organization bypassed the Constitution and passed laws that put Jews in jail? Jews intentionally attack and victimize others, then hypocritically scream that it's the Jews that are the victims... not a smart survival strategy for people who fear "being a visible minority."

>>>Clinton banned CHRISTMAS and Halloween for the military back in 95/96. Christmas was called winter festival or some stupid ass name like this. <<<

Wasn't Clinton also the first president to light a menorah in the White House?

Here in Santa Monice we have something called Winterlit. Last year it was lots of plastic ice sculptures -- and two huge steel menorahs. But nothing blatantly Christmas-oriented.

I'm bummed that Christmas is suppressed because it may "offend sensitivities." But I'm doubly bummed that while Christmas must hide, it seems the menorahs are getting bigger and more numerous every year. It's that double standard that especially offends me.

Denver Mayor to Light Community Menorah (He's the "Merry Christmas" censor)

The Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado has announced that Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper will once again light the community Menorah on the first night of Chanukah. The public is invited to join in the annual community lighting ceremony on Tuesday, December 7 beginning at 5:30 pm.

“I look forward to joining the Denver Jewish community in lighting the community Menorah again this year,” said Mayor John Hickenlooper, who will make his second consecutive appearance at the Federation’s ceremony. “Chanukah brings communities across Colorado and the world together in celebration of light, freedom and peace.”

The community Menorah is located at 300 S. Dahlia Street, corner of East Alameda and South Dahlia Street in Denver, next to the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado building.

“We are honored that Mayor Hickenlooper will once again be taking part in our community Menorah lighting ceremony,” stated Doug Seserman, President and CEO of Federation. “The Mayor’s presence represents Denver’s support and observance of this important Jewish holiday and we appreciate his participation,” Seserman continued.

Lighting ceremonies will continue nightly through Chanukah beginning with the Mayor lighting on December 7 and ending on December 14. The lighting schedule for December 8-14 is still tentative, but Federation anticipates that various local Jewish agencies will host the lighting each night.

Thats the plan: eradicating anything Christian and replacing it with menorahs and other Jewish things.

It's that double standard that especially offends me.

I'm pissed too!

We are seeing the fruits of diversity readied for harvest.

Unfortunately, too many Christians stray into the blending of all things including watering down Christianity. They willingly are seduced by a politically correct ideology of sameness.

Christ did warn about deception and he was talking to Christians when he gave that warning. Now once the liberal anti-Christians put their mind to PCing Christianity most Christians will willingly not want to be call offenders and go along to get along.

Heard on radio last night that the pastor from the church in Arvada who was denied entry into the Parade of Lights will be a guest on the O'Reilly Factor tonight on Fox News. Still waiting for an update on O'Reilly's website for his scheduled guests on tonight's show.

I suppose this is a good thing, however Orielly is about a biblically and historically ignorant as they come. Last night he called the founding of this nation, based upon a Judeo/Christian 'philosophy'.

I understand what you are saying about O'Reilly, but his show is the most highly rated show on cable news and that will get this topic out there to even more Americans around the country.

True enough, I hope the guest has the opportunity to present the subject matter without a "know-it-all" lecture from the ignorant Orielly.

According to Faith Bible Chapel's web site,
Christians will gather at 17th and Tremont
at 7:00pm (the 3rd) and 5:00pm (the 4th) to distribute hot
chocolate and sing traditional CHRISTmas carols.

Bumping for JESUS!!

Onward Christian Soldiers!!

"Hark the Hearld angels sing, Glory to the newborn King,
peace on earth and mercy mild - God and sinners reconciled!"

The reason for the season - duh!

No, they would find a way to blame Pres Bush. If he had not banned (according to them) stem cell research - Tiny Tim would throw his crutches down and walk!

Who knows - the next Crusade may have to begin in our own country. The libs are so childishly bitter about losing the election - they will do anything as a payback in their minds. Little do they know they are greasing their way to hell with this one.

Today I went into the Rite-Aide and looked at the Christmas knick-knacks -- candles, figurines, wreaths for the door, etc. -- except they were called Hokiday ornaments, not Christmas. You could buy a ceramic Holiday Church or a Holiday Angel or other Holiday stuff. I did not buy anything.

This is really frightening.

I grew up in a Jewish section of Queens, NY, went to school and worked in Manhattan, and live in Los Angeles, so I've been among Jews my whole life. Many don't hate gentiles -- but they do fear, and sometimes even hate, Christianity. They fear that their children will be picked on by the Christian majority for not celebrating Christmas, or that they'll appear to be "the other" in the office for not celebrating Christmas.

I grew up on Long Island, and most Jews I know celebrated both Chanukkah and Christmas! So maybe it's not so much the Jews in general as much as the powerful, outspoken Jews in specific.

Just an observation. You wouldn't say the "Reverends" Jackson and Sharpton speak the majority view for blacks, right?

=== The Athiest's have not inforced the State Religion there yet.

It's a pity the ADL has taken such a proactive role in setting the stage for "tolerance" of all but the Christian faith in the public square.

I'd like to thank everyone for the attention being paid to this issue. My audience was able to get the mayor to change his mind on the City Hall sign. Now they have turned their efforts toward getting the Downtown Denver Partnership, which runs the Parade of Lights, to follow suit. If they do not, they will suffer financially.

After my troops get done with the DDP, they shall focus on the ACLU itself, which is the driving force behind so much intolerance and hatred in this country.
