My wife and I were in England for close to 3 weeks in the 90's when the stories were breaking about the Clintoons.
The Telegraph had zero love for the Clintoons, and every day there were stories about the Clintoons that I had only seen via emails.
The first half of the trip we were in the Devon/Cornwall area. Our time share was close to a neat bakery, pub and deli combo. I would go over every morning get some fresh baked goodies for breakfast, some clotted cream and the Telegraph.
The first morning I bought the Telegraph there was a front page story of one of the Clintoons crimes (don't remember what). I commented that would never be printed in the American Fishwraps. The couple that owned the great little place asked what I meant.
I replied that the Clintoons were scumbag criminals and hated America. The couple laughed and donated the Telegraph to me. Each following morning, if there was a story on the Clintoons, I would take my wife's pastry and clotted cream to her at our room and the rest of the Telegraph. Then, I returned to the store to have my coffee and pastry and to discuss the latest story with the owners and others who might be there.
Most of the Devon/Cornwall shop owners and others we met were were very pro America and either disliked Clintoon or despised him.
We, then, spent a week in London, and London was like NY City or LA. The people there were very pro Clinton and very liberal.
bump!
