A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) 12.7.04

On the 63rd anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, President Bush flew to Camp Pendelton, California and back again to speak with the Marines, and thank them for their service and great sacrifice, but made it clear that the War on Terror is not over. After his public appearance, the President met privately with the families of 50 Marines who have died in Iraq.

The President is leading with strength and certainty, so it’s a good time to be a Bushbot! ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island, and the Daily Dose!!

Two hours staring at Nick Trotta and then the President?

You are a lucky woman!

I think Miz Beasley has to go to puppy school first.

Someone mentioned that on another thread. I guess it makes sense. It would sure be tough to train a puppy in the White House at all, much less Christmas.

There sure are a lot of things a new puppy could mess up there!

Not your average houseful of stuff!

Don't you just love the American flag pin even with his tux?

It just thrills me that he loves this country so much.

LOL! That's what it looks like she is thinking to me too!

I noticed her choices are much different than his. He has the Texas double starch thing going. (rice and pasta)

these pictures are wonderful! I'm late tonight myself but this is wonderful way to end the day. Our Pres. was in my neck of the woods today and I wish I could have seen him. Can't get on the base and somehow I didn't even know he was comming until last night. Thanks for the dose!

Well, I read all the bow/ribbon comments and I agree that the dress doesn't need the bow.

Starwise and pbrown, both of you commented on the fact that we might not be able to see the dress color properly and maybe there were blue stones we couldn't see.

So, I enlarged it and I THINK it has some blue stones along the all of the trim on the jacket. Even at the wrist.

I think. There's definitely SOMETHING there, but I can't get it clearly.

But, the bow still looks strange.

I would post it, but I can't remember how to enlarge it. My browser will let me zoom it but not save it zoomed.

So starwise and pbrown, it looks like you two may be right.

I think I've figured it out. Notice her earings have a decided blue tint to them. I'm guessing, if you could see up close at the beading on her dress, you would find that same blue. So .. in person, the blue belt may go better than in pictures. However, for my taste, I dump the blue belt and just have gold sparkly earings.

It was the wrong size for him. Or else, the bullet proof stuff underneath made it too tight.

TO ALL WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE TURQUOISE RIBBON AT LAURA'S WAIST: (a little humor with the color here...ha ha)

Some of your comments about the color of her earrings, and what color is sewn into the dress, are on the right track. And Ohio correctly pointed out that it is NOT A BOW.

Let me add that Laura's eyes are TURQUOISE. In sum, I am certain that in person this creation - and the lady wearing it - looks stunning beyond words.

In photos, I myself still like it, but that is just me...hillbilly, know-nothing, "bow"-loving West Texan that I am(as is Laura a West Texan).

:o) :o) :o) :o) :o) :o) :o)

I like the fit of the jacket on the president altura... he has a nice slim figure & no "beer belly" to speak of.. he wears all his clothes well.

I am guessing the "bow thing" is a little "whatever" between Laura & Dubya... I am with others on the thumbs down on bow as I feel it distracts from the gown..but she looks lovely anyway

Welcome to the DOSE!

The pictures are all at Yahoo under News Photos - George W. Bush, or in one of the slideshows (sometimes you have to hunt pretty hard to find them). The Whitehouse website also posts some VERY nice pictures which are included here.

Glad you enjoy them! (The rest of us do too!)

Wow! That's fascinating! Thanks for posting it.

My son was support in Iraq, but the enemy there doesn't seem to care. Then again, a red patch probably wouldn't have kept the Japanese from killing a Marine in WWII either. There just aren't many 'front lines' in Iraq.....
