Televised report shocks business owner
http://www.tonganoxiemirror.com/section/frontpage_lead/story/7123 ^

Last Wednesday night, Bill McGraw stayed up past his bedtime to watch the 10 o'clock news on KCTV Channel 5.

What the 80-year-old Tonganoxie farmer thought he'd see was an interesting feature that mentioned his longstanding fertilizer business.

Instead, he saw a broadcast that wrongly depicted McGraw's business as an irresponsible company that would sell ammonium nitrate -- in huge quantities -- to anyone who came along.

Where is Tonganoxie? Nothing in the excerpt and no keyword clue. And the full story isn't a whole lot of help either.

Another point - at the very least, he needs to file a complaint with the FCC.

KCTV is a CBS affiliate.

Top to bottom CBS lacks credibility. If it was interested in truth, CBS would have fired Rather immediately and sanctioned the reporter who slandered this businessman with trumped up charges.

It makes you wonder about all of the 60 Minutes exposes over the years. Was there even a shred of truth in any of them?

Tonganoxie is near Kansas City, KS. btw, his lawsuit will be difficult, expensive, and take five years to get to court. Media very hard to sue.

Beware of the hydrazine itself. It dissolves human flesh.

Ask any ME-163 pilot who had it get loose in his cockpit.

He'll hopefully be able to find a good lawyer to get a nice settlement out of the TV station so he can enjoy the rest of his life in peace.

Those who "reported" that 20-10-10 is an explosive, (it's not) and called it "ammonium nitrate (AN)" (it's only half AN) should be fired -- and sued.

As testified at the McVeigh trial, even pure fertilizer grade AN is a poor explosive; explosive-grade AN is specially processed (details omitted) and is specially coated.

Even their claim that a proper ANFO mix explodes easily is bogus; special initiator charges are required.

I hope this gentleman sues the pants off these "news" people. As he implied, these "newsmakers" were creating (not reporting) news -- and slandering him in the process.

KCTV5s tabloid journalism has made their newscasts even more unwatchable.

Did you take a look at the pic of McGraw? He doesn't look like someone I would want to mess with. And add the fertilizer company into this mix and I wouldn't want to be the reporter, editor or owner of the paper. Hope they have their insurance premiums paid up.

"Like the back fence gossip, so to speak," Kohl said. "It has nothing to do with the truth, it's just because it sounds good -- sounds juicy."

More and more of out broadcast “news” is fitting this category.

You know the gentleman? Great! We I hope you keep us updated as this moves along. Hope he butchers the LSM station financially as well as an inkling of credibility they ever conceived of, and any affiliate that also irresponsibly ran this piece of BS "story".

MSM picking on and making up lies to sell stories at the expense an 80 year old farmer, who's paid his taxes and helped build the society these leeches suck the life out of. Shame.
