Thanks for the tip... I missed the Leonids (don't remember whether it was clouded over or if I simply forgot)...
There is a website called Heavens above where you can register for free. when you enter your home city it will provide star charts, satellite passages, ISS transit info and Shuttle when it's flyin'.
try WWW.Heavens-above.com
hi Chip,
this looked cool
FMCDH(BITS)
bump
No way! This years was the best I had ever seen.
I thought there was suppose to be one in November, but I missed it if there was. Thanks for the 'heads up' on this one.
Last night at 7:55 EST in suburban Maryland, I was coming to a stop at a traffic light when I saw a greenish fireball to the NW, about 2 seconds duration, very bright even through high hazy clouds. I try every year to look at the Perseids, Leonids and Geminids, and this was the biggest one I've ever seen (not the longest). Big enough that people were rolling down their windows and asking what it was.
BTTT - Bundle up and check out the meteors.

Drat, we are having a winter storm up here in MI. for the next several months! All it seems to do is either rain or snow in this place.
I'll take a look. It is hazing up and may snow.
Nope. Socked in. We won't see anything unless a meteorite breaks through and lands in the road.
Watched the meteor display from here in Florida late last night. It was awesome.
FYI - Meteor Bump
Thanks for the info. I'm at work here in Va. Went outside for about 5 minutes and saw three meteors in the east.
Tonight? YOu saw that tonight, just now?
Meteor showers tonight!
Bump. (Or, "PING" - OW! Its not supposed to hail in December!!)
Yes, as a matter of fact, I saw a couple more since I posted last, just within the last couple of minutes.
Isn't it cold as HECK there?
