I found this info on the Firefox site, and should only be done by broadband users.

I did it myself, and it works wonders!!

You can employ pipelining as well on Mozilla Suite/Netscape 7x browsers. They're based on the same open-source Gecko Engine build.

I am using Mozilla Firebird .6 and I don't see it listed. Should I upgrade to something else?

I don't know what I did wrong but evidently my cookies were disabled or something. Keep getting messages on Firefox about URL redirection. IE works OK. Any idea what I did wrong. I even reinstalled Firefox to no avail.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

Just out of curiosity, why would anyone want Firefox (or any browser) to wait before acting on incoming info at all, much less have such a wait be the default preference?

Bump for future reference.

I changed my settings, but so far haven't been able to decide whether it is faster. I'm using a broadband connection.
