Thanks, interesting comment.

However, from what I understand I think it would be a stretch to say the founders collectively "believed in God," as they seem to have actually represented a pretty diverse spectrum of views.

And why include any qualifier at all? After all, why not say, "whose founders were slaveowners" or "whose founders were white males" etc etc ?

The latest on this is that Habecker has won an injunction on the recall election from a Federal Judge in Denver. He has also addressed some meeting in Ft. Collins where he said he was interested in getting Federal law changed to remove the Pledge from all public schools. He has made this a national issue, to the chagrin of all in my old hometown of Estes Park.
