I just heard from my son who is in high school right now. The mother-in-law accidently called his cell phone so he was delivering the message to me. It was a bomb scare of some sort, all clear. The M-I-L's train will be an hour late.... sigh... ;-)

I imagine you could expect a similar delay if you are waiting for your son.

Welcome to FreeRepublic and Merry Christmas!

I just tried to call my son and he never picked up, so I am assuming that is GOOD news. Cell on, signal too weak. I hope he can get a connecting train out of NYC so he can be home tonight.

Fortunately, he has friends from when he used to live there if he needs a place to stay. He worked on Park Ave down the street from Grand Central during the 9/11 crisis and his first day back at work there were 75 bomb threats in the neighborhood. One little bomb threat isn't enough to faze him.

Thank God! I feared the worst...a 10-year-old girl running with scissors.
