Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group that John Kerry's campaign mismanager blames/thanks for the Democrat presidential nominee's defeat, promises that it won't go away.
Recently enlarged and renamed Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth, it is keeping an eye on Kerry, who has thrilled Republicans by saying he might run for president again in 2008.
William E. Franke, who runs the organization's day-to-day operations, pointed out to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the group was need because the media establishment failed to report adequately and accurately on the admitted war criminal Kerry's past.
"They have called us rag merchants and liars and scum and every name under the sun. But what he has never done is respond substantively to our accusations," Franke said.
Swift Boat Veterans and POWs for Truth has grown to "a substantive organization" with a donor list of 150,000, he said.
He said the group might help distribute the documentary "Stolen Honor: Wounds that Never Heal," which NewsMax aired on television nationwide after left-wing groups censored Sinclair Broadcast Group's attempt to show it.
Franke noted that it was an injustice that the Bush-hating film "Fahrenheit 911" could be shown so widely by the same types who muzzled "Stolen Honor."
"One thing I suspect we may do is join in an effort so that the POWs are able to get their message out," he told the paper.

In the last couple weeks, I've seen Mike McCurry and Kerry's campaign flak Chad [Somebody] refer to the "lies" of the SWIFTvets. McCurry called their efforts "the most dishonorable thing I've ever seen in politics."
Yet I cannot recall one single event or instance in which anything the SWIFTvets said was refuted or corrected. Even the WashPost article on the Bay Hap incident effectively came up with nothing (and it was the only careful and thorough reconstruction of the incident).

You may want to watch those bridges a little more closely. With Teresa's cash, and if Kerry is willing to move far enough left to satisfy the DU/Moveon types, he could easily win the nomination.
The Democrat Party nomination process is firmly in the grip of the 'wing nut" left factions and unless they change their primary rules in the next 4 years to allow less radical party pros a say, Kerry could have it again if he wants. In addition, four years from now, what remains of the Mainstrean media will have even less influence among Rat primary voters than they have now with Republicans. The mainstream is done from a King Making standpoint and you will see the "grass roots" driving the bus.
It will boil down to what Kerry wants to do.
The only things in the book that I've seen contested substantively are that the guy Kerry shot to get his silver star may have been wearing pajamas instead of a loin cloth and Rassman's claim (from the bottom of the river) that Kerry was being fired upon when he came back from him in the Bronze Star incident. I'm not aware of anything else that's even contested. For heaven's sake, Kerry's own account of the Silver Star incident conflicts with the citation.
The pajamas claim was from the VC in Ca Mau, who gave differing answers to Nightline and to the AP reporter who interviewed them a month or two earlier. The Vietnamese Communists are notorious liars (and I say this as the husband of a S. Vietnamese woman who grew up on the Delta).
As for Rassman's claim, I'll cut him slack and say that he confused friendly fire for enemy fire in the heat of battle. All the other SWIFTees say he's wrong.
I cut Rassman slack too. He struck me as a pretty naive guy who was seriously being taken advantage of by Kerry's handlers.
