Open up any issue of "Vogue", "Elle", or any fashion magazine to see where young women get this from. This is what popular culture the gay fashion industry tells them what is attractive - super thin and even addict like , pre-teen boy -like looks. There's more to it obviously.

Back in my single/dating days, I was regularly appalled at the fact that the *most attractive* women always thought their hips were too big, etc. To put it another way, the GAY fashion industry, which picks BOY-like women as models and puts them on a pedestal for all to emulate, has convinced most women that their normal, sexy, feminine body curves are unattractive! Often I could not convince them otherwise.

It may be a satanic plot to set the standard of physical fitness so far out of reach that (a) women who care enough about fitness to work hard at it, will destroy themselves shooting for an unnatural standard, and (b) many other women will try and fail, try and fail, try and fail, and finally give up on physical fitness completely, thus contributing to our worsening national obesity epidemic. Either way, the anorexic/gay standard is the enemy of real fitness and real beauty.

I am certainly not a professional so defer to whatever the professionals say, but it seems to me that if you could just expose the fashion-fag lie for what it is, and persuade her that her natural body curves (assuming she wasn't overweight before) are more attractive to heterosexual men, that might help. Maybe even ask her, "Do you get asked out *more*, or *less*, since you lost all this weight?"

Read my post 91.

Although the media is a real factor, if a girl has a great self-esteem, she is not going to fall prey to what the magazines tell her. If you raise a child truly knowing their self-worth, they aren't going to try and seek approval from strangers and friends as much through drinking, drugs, dieting, or otherwise.

Being a first born daughter, (most anorexics are), they are held in the position of the siblings to be an example. They also have had extra pressure from their parents as a firstborn to achieve and usually been treated more strictly than their other siblings.

It's VERY important to let the girl know she is beautiful and accepted no matter what. Because they are usually over-achievers, nagging them to do better and achieve more could be the worst thing you can do. Encourage them to sit in a room and relax and do nothing. (I wouldn't even allow myself to sit for 5 minutes...I felt guilty...I had to always be achieving...) Let her know that if she fails, she is loved no matter what and that "doing their best" is good enough even if it isn't perfect. Relaxing and just "being" is just as important as achieving.

And those who have to live inside the forced thinness, such as photo models and ballerinas, etc., often fall prey to the rampant speed use in those industries/arts. It's a very unhealthy way to live.

Normal, modest clothing looks best on a nicely shaped, natural woman. However, outre "hip" clothing looks best on the hanger or on someone as scrawny as a hanger. People should force their daughters to avoid skimpy "hip" clothing anyway, as it does turn girls into sex objects in the eyes of those who see them.

I think there is something to what you are saying. The curvy women don't appear anymore except On Spanish TV and some places still in Europe. Its been wiped out in much of America; probably for the exact reason of who runs the industry now.
