Interpol alleges senior Bin Laden adviser hiding in tribal areas

ISLAMABAD: Interpol is searching for Mustafa Ahmed Muhammad Uthman Abu Al-Yazid, Al Qaeda’s chief financial officer and senior adviser to Osama Bin Laden and has alleged that he is hiding in areas adjoining the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, sources told Daily Times on Friday.

In a letter to Pakistani law enforcement agencies including the Federal Investigation Agency, Interpol stated that Mustafa was an Egyptian and was reportedly a close aide of Bin Laden, sources added.

Mustafa had many aliases including Shaykh Said Al-Misri, Mustafa Abu Yazid, Sa’ad Abu Shayama, Mustafa Muhammad Ahmed and Said Uthman, they said.

Interpol had gathered these facts by interrogating a suspect arrested by law enforcement agencies, sources said, adding that the letter did not mention his name. The suspect alleged during interrogation that Mustafa was currently in Pakistan’s tribal areas, sources added. Interpol wrote that Mustafa was born in Egypt on December 27, 1955, took over Al Qaeda’s finances and became Bin Laden’s senior adviser, sources said, adding that he had also been a member of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad and was in contact with activists of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan.

The letter also stated that Mustafa was on the list of Egyptian, Jordanian, Saudi, Turkish and Pakistani law enforcement agencies and Interpol had asked them to hand over copies of the arrest warrants (if issued) in Mustafa’s name, sources said. Interpol also wanted these countries to share information on Mustafa’s whereabouts, sources added.

When contacted, the director general of the Interior Ministry’s National Management Crises Cell, Brig (r) Javed Iqbal Cheema, said he was not aware of the development.

I thought this guy was arrested with KSM and sentenced to be hung for his involvement in the Pearl murder. Can anyone clear this up?

Mustapha Ahmed al-Hawsawi (reportedly the 9/11 paymaster) was the other guy captured. "Mustapha Ahmed" has a long history with AQ and was the guy in Pearls murder.

Interpol search engine sucks! I can't find his sheet. Even so he probably doesn't have a photo there. A while back on research on Khattab, they had an old photo while the Islamic web sites had plenty of info where Interpol was clueless.

Looks like you pinged the guys that I know about, (although there are some additional Freepers that have posted from time to time), that have been active in watching for detail in that area of the world.

We might add Boot Hill to the list.

You all might to write VERY POLITE letters to the editor of the Chitral News.

http://www.chitralnews.com

There is a link at the bottom of the page to the editor:

Email chitralnews@yahoo.com chitralnews@hotmail.com

Address: Fairland Hotel, Ataliq Bazaar Chitral, nwfp, Pakistan

Phone # 92-943-413969, 412579 Cell # 0333 5237640

It is important to be polite and diplomatic. People typically don't want to help jerks who make threats, trash their religion, country, etc.

Their editor is repeating the Pakistani denials that Osama is around Chitral.

The NYT is quoting the CIA that the CIA has bases in NW Pakistan but that Pakistani minders are restricting CIA efforts. I think the CIA has bases in Pakistan. Are the Pakistanis impeding them--I am not so sure this is ttrue, but don't know.

Chitral is a very poor community that wants more tourism--it is a base camp for the Hindu Kush.

Ask them VERY NICELY to please help in the search for Osama. You need to give your name, phone and address to be published in the letters to the editor.

Chitral News has reported that "heavily armed shepherds from Afghanistan" kidnapped a "Pakistani shepherd" and stole his goats. This was depicted as a cross-boarder family feud. Maybe, but it could also be the CIA is disguised as shepherds and is snatching terrorists.

An unidentified American military official has said that Osama my be around Chitral. He could be hiding out and be resupplied by trekkers.

There are also special huts for women who are in labor or having their periods. He could be hiding in one of these huts since Pakistani men might not check them in a search.

There is a lot of traffic thru the border.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1155685/posts?page=1116#1116

US officers say it is Haqqani's network which sends young brainwashed assassins across the border to kill government officials in suicide attacks, ambushes lorries bringing supplies to US bases on the dangerous road from Kabul, and masterminds mass attacks on government positions in which badly-trained teenage guerrillas are often slaughtered.

BCP 2, a few miles away, has the graves of 40 of them outside its perimeter.

Rahman said he believed the border war would end quickly if Pakistan wanted it to.

"Pakistan says it is helping America but it is not. Pakistan is two-faced," the commander said.

Gen Kilbaz Sherzai, an old communist intelligence chief trained at the Frunze Military Academy, the Soviet Sandhurst, shares that view. He now works for the Americans in Khowst and recently survived a suicide-bomb attempt by an inept attacker.

"The boy was sent by Haqqani," the general said. "He believed that he would go to paradise by killing an Afghan who was working with infidels, but instead he is in an American prison."

The general is convinced that Haqqani is a key player whose capture could lead to the biggest prize in the war on terror.

"He is a friend of Bin Laden and has many links with Al-Qaeda," he said. "I'm sure he knows where Osama is. We just don't know why Pakistan doesn't arrest him."
