Several years back when I lived in an apartment, I was walking out the back door and down the walkway to the parking lot when a hawk flew by my head within 5 feet and nailed a morning dove that was on the walkway about 40 feet away. Another time I was at the golf driving range hitting balls when I watched a hawk drop straight down out of the sky and nail a robin that was looking for worms about 75 yards out......
I've been pretty lucky in being able to see such a number of nature's finest predators in action.....
