These suggestions are a lot more helpful if you happen to be filthy rich.

Thanks for the help!

I put down the wrong title for the source URL.

I heard about this through the "Brian Whitman Show."

The actual guidelines though, are on the Emily Post website.

I know!

I was as surprised as you when I heard about that.

I figured that "Tipping" civil servants went out with the Hatch Act.

Save your personal shopping for weeks after Christmas when most stuff goes 40% or more off.

Good luck.

Too late for this year.

The best present I bought this year was a "Brooklyn in a Box" board game.

Did it have a space where you wake up with a knife at your throat at age 6? I had that one happen in Brooklyn to me.

Ah, the old days.

William Shatner is singing...YEAH!!!

Nursing gifts should be something all can enjoy, candy etc. All personal gifts must be reported and approved for acceptance. Individual gifts are not encouraged.

Still nothing compared to being a little kid waking up with a knife to your throat.

What does one do in that situation as a kid? FAKE SLEEPING.

I put stuff in the box for my carrier:') She brings packages to the door instead of leaving a pick up notice, comes back if she overlooks something instead of waiting until the next day and will even give me my mail early if it's important and she's not on my side of the street yet.

After the anthrax scare I put a card in the box for her thanking for delivering my mail and to be careful. She looked ready to cry when she told me thank you later.

That $20 limit is interesting as that was what I put in a Christmas card to our mailman during the anthrax crisis in 2001.

My mail carrier does the same for us.

I gave her a family pic in a holiday frame and scratch off tickets.

The sanitation guy whom I never see other than pick up day was right behind me when I was in the convenient store where I only go for Holiday scratch offs because of the great selection. I was so embarressed as was he when I blurted out 'Oh, great now you know what your Christmas Gift is!"

My other service people like the Family Steakhouse where I eat once a week on my day off all got homemade Dog Cookies as most of them are Dog Owners and Lovers with a few scratch offs in the doggie cookie bags.

My hairdresser/houscleaner/nurseRPT/CNA Respite care provider all got gift bags filled with stuff my son picked out plus a 2005 calandar my son had printed up with a picture every month of him and the most important people in his life which is his therapist RPT, CNA respite care provider, hairstylist/housekeeper also the woman he wants to marry if she ever is in the market for a new husband.

He went shopping for me with his CNA/friend and spent the money mostly on the woman he loves the hair/housekeeper who happens to be my best bud. Brat.

I made 400 doggie cookies and they are making a big hit with my older aquantances who are watching sugar levels but are avid dog loves.

It really is the thought that counts.

Just so happens that are closet freinds also work for us so we were able to give them bags with an array of gifts and then something personal that they would enjoy. So far so good.

The Calandars of my son and his friends are also a big hit.
