Heard it years ago - Doc Watson, (Down in the Valley to Pray) w/o all the backup chorus ans sweet mixing.
AK has a voice like a kazoo.
Now I know you've got to be kidding. Nobody, but nobody could think her voice is not the purest in the world. Also, Down to the River to pray, I saw in concert, it was her with two other ladies, acapella (sp?), no music, no "mixing", no chorus. I think you must be confusing her with someone else.

Allison has no breath support to her voice. If the Woodstock video is still available, check our Joanie's set - watch the air coming out her mouth (it was cool enough) as she sings.
