I don't need the evidence. The warnings are enough for me to avoid them. I'll take my chances on the cholesterol.
i thought i read somewhere, however, that naproxen was to be taken with bextra as it has asprin-like effects in helping the heart??
or maybe that was wine taken with bextra? that i could live with...
I won't take them either.
You must be a real sicko to hurl that kind of accusation.
Thanks for the info. I'm waiting to see what my cholesterol reading will be at the next blood screening. I've been on the Atkins Diet for over a year. That is pretty much a Protein diet. The doc says my cholesterol is genetic, to which I reply, "if it's genetic why should I worry?" I use supplements for everything. I know about the Vit E healing and the Vit C prevention. I take a good multi-vit, 1000 mg Vit C, 400iu Vit E, Super B Complex, a Flaxseed/fish oil combo, and a Flush Free Niacin (for cholesterol) daily. I haven't had a cold in years, and have no aches or pains and I feel great. I'm 71 and can run up 37 steps without getting winded (I do that at the park).
By gum, ya got that right!!! I can't figure out how it happened so danged fast!!!
Now that Grampa Dave's gotta "trophy wife," that keeps from gittin as old as we are, tubebender... Some people have all the luck, but in his case, he not only has luck... He'd got pluck!!!
I hope you're kidding...
Ain't no pain that a little Oxycontin can't fix!
I'm allergic to aspirin, the cox2 pain killers, tylenol, or ibuprofen don't help me. It's like pulling teeth to find a doc that will prescribe something that will help.
Atkins is very much like the Protein Power Plan, but the PPP starts you off with some carbs. After a year, the two diets are probably the same. Your supplements look great! The Eades, however, advise against flaxseed in any form, oil, meal, etc. You might try adding tocotrienols, a special form of Vitamin E that really attacks cholesterol. I take 1000 C daily too, but prefer a powdered form, Rainbow Light brand, that contains all kinds of nice bioflavonoids and is buffered, which my stomach appreciates.
I live in the gloomy NW, so added Carlson's Cod Liver Oil to my list for the winter in order to get enough Vitamin D. It may raise my cholesterol a bit, so will check again in the spring.
Keep running up those steps! I'm with you, grrrrrrl!
If the "natural" remedies work for us, and if the effect is only placebo effect, then we didn't need the liver/kidney destroying chemicals in the first place. Did we? I use what works for me.
You mean you don't support the decision to cause the death of people for money????? That makes you pretty much a communist around here.
Thanks for the advice on the tocotrienols. I assume they are to be found in the supplement aile at Wal-Mart? LOL. I started taking the Niacin when some medical group who did a blood check on me at Annual Conference told me it would lower cholesterol. My doc didn't agree with them, but I figured what the heck, I'll try it and see. Wonder how the tocotrienols and the Niacin would mix? Any idea?
Did someone spit up on your dinner plate tonight? Calling someone a communist here is foul.
Vicodin makes me so sleepy though
I agree with 99.99% of your posts; but on this issue, I'm afraid we part company. I simply don't see any sinister conspiracy on the part of the "evil pharmaceutical companies" to defraud the American public. As a former Food-and-Drugger, I can tell you that the natural food supplement manufacturers do far more harm than the drug companies. The next time a loved one is diagnosed with cancer, don't take them to Sloan-Kettering; instead, have them take elixir of apricot pits and see how long they survive.
I took it daily for 17 years.
These anti-inflammatories sure do work well on my pain...and then they leave gaping holes in my stomach. I don't know how anybody can take enough of this stuff to get the heart problems.
