Fellow migraine sufferer here. I followed my neurologist's advice and have cut my migrains by more than 80% by avoiding migraine food triggers. I'm a born skeptic and was absolutely floored at the results. My biggest triggers turned out to be aspartame (NutraSweet), MSG, aged cheeses and processed meats.
I have gone from having a migraine at least 5 days a week to having them about once a month.

Another migraine sufferer here. I too read labels and avoid the things you have mentioned...but may I add (and look out for this yourselves) is FD&C yellow 5 food coloring and large doses of caffienne. I have said that if I ever drink a diet Mt. Dew (aspartame, caffienne and yellow #5, my head will blow up. MSG, btw, can be listed on food labels as 'natural flavoring.' So be careful!!!

No problem, thanks. I always suspected that chocolate did it for me.
I never use artificial sweeteners, never have, never will.
I love Chinese food, but have yet to link the timing with a migraine.
Processed meats? Like pepperoni, salami, Oscar Mayer?..Man what a bummer. There goes my lunch.

"food triggers" same for me. Did not consult just read the Internet. Was mostly Cola. Went to other soft drinks about the same results as you ie ended 80-85% of the migraines. Still have some I guess something sneaks in. Would have them every day at about 6:30 pm after having a 5:30 Wild Turkey and Coke. Dropped the Coke and mostly gone. Miss the Coke sad to say.

I almost never have headaches --- but sometimes certain wines --- just one glass --- will give me what I think could be a migraine. Coffee cures that and any minor headache I get so I don't need the unhealthy chemicals.
