The ACLU and all deChristianizers can think they are coming mighty close to achieving their goal of a secular society, but it will be an empty accomplishment. Reminds me of that song from the movie "Yentl".
There are certain things that once you have
No man can rake away-
No wave can wash away-
No wind can blow away-
No tide can turn away-
No fire can burn away-
No time can wear away-

I sometimes wonder: who really won the 2004 election? The GOP? Or the lawyers?

I wish "Merry Christmas" to everyone, store clerks, the guys that trim the hedges and work on my boat and auto mechanics; even a couple of Jewish friends of ours. We have not seen or heard ANY negativity from ANYone! Further, most offer their handshake, and/or embrace us!
Let us not surrender to the religious Nazis unless they're Islamic suicide terrorist fukcs. Then it's time to load up the Glocks.

last year she wound up with a Hannukah song, this year she's landed some Hispanic thing; next year, no doubt, a traditional Hutu disembowelling chant. It would be offensive to inflict Deck the Halls or God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen on any hypothetical Hutu in attendance, but it's not offensive to inflict hot Hutu hits on bewildered moppets. He's in rare form on this one. The Hutu disemboweling chant sounds like it's going to be real painful for those bewildered moppets. LOL

During President Bushes last year in office, he really ought to award a Medal Of Freedom to Mark Steyn.
The man is a national treasure. The fact that it would make liberals apoplectic is just a bonus.

In Plano, Texas, in the heart of God-fearin' Bush country, parents were instructed not to bring red and green plates and napkins for the school's "winter" parties, as red and green are colours with strong Christmas connotations and thus culturally oppressive. So, what are they gonna do if the parents bring red and green plates?? Have them arrested??

Postmistress Sandy ColyonIn the interest of accuracy, that should be Sandy Collignon (I worked with her son when he was loan officer at a local bank). Great column, as usual. Merry CHRISTmas, one and all!

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But who cares? The elevation of the right not to be offended into the bedrock principle of democratic society will, in the end, tear it apart. That goes for atheists threatening suits against New Jersey schools and for Muslim lobby groups threatening fatwas against The Telegraph. On which cheery note, Merry Christmas to all.Amen. And a Merry Christmas to you, Mr. Steyn.
