Every generation since the time of Christ believes that their generation is the last one. God only knows how many times some religious leader has claimed to know when the Last Day will be, and every one of them has been 100% wrong. It is amazing to see that people still fall for the same old line.

Yep, I can say with confidence I have no idea when Jesus will return or what will happen upon his return; but I do know we will all finally pay our dues, like it or not.

"last generation"

That may be true, but Jesus gave a clue in Mathew - He said, "the generation that sees the fig tree bloom". The diciples ask Him when the end would come.

The "fig tree bloom" is in reference to Israel becoming a state. That occurred in 1948 - 56 years ago. Since a generation is 40 years (or was at the time the Bible was written), 56 years could mean Jesus is late .. or it could mean that God understands the laws of longevity have changed and we still have a few years to go.

However, since I was alive in 1948 - it could be that my generation is the last one.

Every generation since the time of Christ believes that their generation is the last one.

It always amuses me greatly that Johnathon Edwards (Preached one of the most famous sermons ever - "Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God", 1741, Connecticut) thought the "end was near" in 1741, due to all the "sin and wickedness" he saw all around him in Colonial America. If he came back today, he'd probably be so stunned, he'd die of a heart attack within minutes.

"...God seems now to be hastily gathering in his elect in all parts of the land; and probably the greater part of adult persons that ever shall be saved, will be brought in now in a little time..."

I believe God does this purposely so that we will live the kind of life He wants us to, to be aware and ready and to tell others. Past folks weren't reading the signs correctly. Israel had to come to pass before the end times period began.

>That same old line <- "REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND" is the Shephards warning call to accept Christ Jesus as Lord before the snarling lion overtakes His flock. For then it will be too late. One cannot be baptised in the Holy Spirit AFTER physical death.

I'd encourage you to study the facts MUCH MORE DEEPLY AND BROADLY than you obviously have before pontificating such a tiresome old . . . hollow point.

And that argument will be made on the day of his return - just before he returns.
