I'm sure glad I don't live in a state more politically corrupt than some third-world countries.

SCOTUS wouldn't touch the Lautenberg scam in New Jersey. I doubt that they will touch this one either.

They don't want to get pasted again by the MSM, which still holds the chad decision against them and regularly lies about the split (they say it was 5-4, when it was 7-2 on all but the timing issue).

I do not understand something. The GOP wins the first two recounts by more than a few dozen votes. The DEMS win one hand counted recount by 8 votes. How is it that one out of three beats two out of three?

Following in the footsteps of the Florida Supreme Court. Unfortunately the US Supreme Court won't touch this one.

I suggest we start a fund drive and signature drive to support a recall/impeachment of those judges as well as the (hopefully) inevitable GOP appeal to SCOTUS. I can't vote on this, not being a WA resident but I'll kick $ into a fund, anybody else?

You've already voted in those places if you voted in WA.

The problem is, those countries run better elections than the state of WA.

I would count on it. And I expect we will get a "run-off" election to finalize this thing.

I'm a Rossi (R) supporter, but I hope he concedes unless thay have solid evidence against the dems. A hand recount is allowed by state law, so I don't want to hear the pubbies bitching about it unless they have proof of malfeasance.

In my opinion, the best thing to do is to walk away, holding your head high.

This is what Thune did in his previous US Senate run, which he lost under suspicious circumstances.

The SD voters rewarded him in this last election with the win over Daschle.

So do these 700+ ballots have to be counted now? If so, why are the dems and the news already declaring Gregorilla the winner?

A runoff?

Under state law, if petitioned, the court can throw out the results of an election if there has been such gross incompetance or fraud that the result cannot be trusted. But that's as far as the court's authority goes.

From that point on, the rest is up to the legislature. The legislature would have to set the date of a new election and set up the ground rules. For example, should the revote be a complete rerun with all candidates or a runoff with only the top two? Should the new election be coupled with vote reform, such as tightening up the rules for absentee ballots, abolishing provisional ballots and requiring picture ID at the polling place?

There would be a lot to do. Lt. Gov. Brad Owen would be acting governor until this could be all sorted out.

It's fraud only if you can show it as such. The dems claim they won by 8 votes without the disputed 700+ King County ballots. If so, then other fraudulent stuff must be demonstrated in order to justify taking this to the feds.

What about the ballots that were "augmented"? There were even some with white out on them. The only viable solution to this mess is a run off. It'll cost us, but I think that it will cost us a lot less than just allowing Gregoire to be Governor.
