Now wind at all. Use to live in Kansas, Illinois, and Colorado. I ain't going back.
If I want snow I'll get in the car drive up to Big Bear or Running Springs (30 to 45 minutes)and come back down.

I was up to Antelope Valley on Thanksgiving and it snowed like crazy on us coming back down the 138.
Car in front slowed down to 15 MPH. No light out there and we could barley see the road line. Truly different weather coming out of there. Should have bit the bullet and taken the 210.

You shoulda seen the sunrise this morning!! I really like them but they're scheduled waaayy to early in the day. Maybe about noon-ish would be nice. This time of year with 12 hours shifts I get sunrises on the way home, sunsets on the way in.

Not sure how cold it is here, but the wind comes through the (uninsulated) walls. Last night heavy thick as pea-soup fog settled in and that's new here. Maybe we'll have some snow.
There is a fire hazard with those kinds of winds. Thanks for the heads up.

When they've predicted 0 degrees and 8-12 inches on the ground by morning where I grew up with, I remain grateful to be in the Sunshine state.
Snowflakes on my eyelashes and idyllic scenes of deer next to the tree line only go so far. Ya gotta own an ice scraper, leather gloves, buy antifreeze, a shovel, and get used to salted roads eating out the bottom of your car every year.

Oh yeah, and a new pair of snow boots every year which never seem to keep out the cold are a necessity.

Is there a particular reason they feel the need to yell when posting these advisories?
Yes. They need to be heard above demorats rhetoic.

Are you listening to Mr. KABC and the wacky conspiracy theorist he has on right now? The guy is almost good enough to put on Art Bell.

As I recall there was a time he tried doing his show from home.
Did you hear the shower or flushing?

LOL, glad you got to experience him fully. I thought so too, but wonder how much he paid to be on the show. He's a multi-millionaire, inherited his Dad's fortune, by his own admission.

"Sant'ana" is a colloquialism.
And, yes, you bet they can be hurricane force gusts!
