Some referendums are expected to result in a comfortable win for the "yes" camp. Others - such as in the UK and France - are expected to be much closer.

France, huh? I'd love to see it fail there. What a blow that would be to the pinkos.

France will want more than its share, so I'm pretty sure that the first attempt will fail. Without France or Germany (or both) the EU would be a pointless experiment. OTOH, the French refused to rely on foreign nuclear deterrents and developed its own, keeping it independent of NATO. IOW, perhaps France will in the end say **** it.
