Not sure but it sounds like she may have had a less than ideal family upbringing environment, for whatever reasons.

They had a bad situation...even before the winnings. This girl would have died from drugs if he had never won the lotto...although she would have been in her mid-20s probably in that case. If Americans really understood the grip of drugs on high school kids in the US...they'd be shocked.
