Yeah, my '72 Demon (slant 6) just keeps getting better. Bought it new in Oct. '71 and been driving it to work every day since. Original engine. Last time I replaced the alternator it took 15 minutes. Ha ha ha ha

Ya think any of these high tech cars will even be repairable in 10 (or less) years? Not a chance.

Remember the days when if you fumbled a wrench, you always knew where to find it? (on the ground, under the car). Nowadays, a fumbled socket could very mean a trip back to Sear's Tool Department for a new tool. :-)

1967 was a fine year for automobile designers - the was a good era - up until the Industry did a collective brain lobotomy on 1973.

Yep.

And when my '57 Pontiac Chieftan hits the streets again, it'll be because I took it all apart and put it back together myself.

No power steering, power brakes, power windows, cruise control, a/c, or anything that's prone to failure.

It's rudimentary transportation, but two tons of fun!
