When the New Amsterdam armory had the explosive accident, lots of conspiracy theories were were circulated. The most reasonable explanation was that the Center Gunpowder Keg simply spontaneously exploded. Although there were 180+ witnesses that saw a flaming arrow arc into the barrel, authorities quickly discounted this improbable theory. So Great! ;-)
The center fuel tank rears its ugly head.

This would be a great thread on its own.
So brilliant.
God bless the good folks who have been attracted to and those who have created this incredible site.
God bless J.R. and Free Republic.

The Free Republic has been a part of my life for almost 9 years now. I can't imagine life without it! I'm not sure I could have survived Clinton without it. God bless Jim Robinson and his family, and all the Freepers that continue to support this genuine voice of the people.

If they don't like it, they can start their own forum.
Oh, right. They did.
And it sucks!
Seriously, y'all are missing out big time on licensing opportunities. I wanted a Viking Kitty patch SO BAD, and it kinda fell through.
Moose/Cheese?
I could go on, but you get the picture.

Darth had an anti-Bush screed and was seduced by DU this summer. I watched - it was pretty gross.

Jim, even if you were "ripping off the donors", the service and opportunity you've created and given in the form FreeRepublic.com - not only to the members but to the country - would surpass the level of absconding a thousand fold. This site has done more damage, and more good than could be calculated.
You should have nothing but pride in your accomplishment: FreeRepublic is one of the 7 wonders of the internet.

Not an OKC/911 article, but a very good retelling of how FR came about in the first place. Since the OKC/911 topic is closely related to the original purpose of FR, [the accounting of Whitewater crimes by the Clintons] I think it's important to the ping list to know where we came from. While FR is used for many things these days, cataloging the information behind government abuse and networking interested people is really the meat and potatoes of Jim's original vision.
