Yanukovich refuses to accept defeat
From correspondents in Kiev
December 28, 2004
PRIME Minister Viktor Yanukovich today refused to accept the outcome of the re-run of Ukraine's presidential election, in which his rival holds a big lead, and said he would challenge the result in court.
"I will never recognise this defeat because there were violations of the constitution and of human rights in our country," he said after preliminary results showed him trailing liberal Viktor Yushchenko.
He said his team had no confidence in the Supreme Court's civil chamber which this month annulled his victory in last month's vote.
"I will demand that our appeal, which is being prepared, be examined by the entire collegium of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. And that this should be done publicly."

The loser doesn't have to admit defeat in order for it to be so. It's obvious.

No matter the country; no matter the election; the Left is the same. The same in their tactics to 'win'. . .the same in their tactics when they lose.

I wonder if he is related to Weird Al Yanovich? He is apparently friends with Weird Al Gore. You can call him "Al".

In related news, MoveOnski.org will stage a counter vigil in front of Yuschenko's house until this 'democracy' idea is soundly defeated.

What with evil spreading and now earthquakes, destruction, and death, could this be the end?
