No offense, but F- the Red Cross.  Those Jew hating bastards can do without the support of anyone with a moral compass.

They're no better than the United Way in my book.

It's horrible how the numbers keep rising.

The evil part of me wants to know what flippant remark Teresa Heinz Kerry said of the victims and if she's helping them out or letting them run around naked.

just as long as the UN doesn't control any disbursements...the money would be going right into Kofi's other jacket pocket.."what's this? Money? How did that get in there??"

It is now clear that the President must send in the Fleet, no other entity has the resources to provide aid across an arc of 10,000 miles to millions of sick, starving and thirsty souls.

After spending the last seven months in Iraq, I will make sure that my contributions only go to organizations who are also supporting rebuilding effforts there. They, along with the Iraqi people, are true heroes and deserve my support. Organizations such as American Friends Service Committee who send volunteers and then call for troop withdrawal will not see one dime of my money.

Nah, thanks anyway.

I prefer to make all my Tsunami donations through an Israeli relief organization.

Our company, newsgator.com, has announced they will contribute 3% of revenue for the next three months.

NewsGator Contributes 3% of Revenue for Relief Efforts

I don't post this as advertising, rather, I want other companies to also think about doing the same thing, and maybe feel a bit of peer pressure to do so. These are innocent people of all nations including the United States that feel a massive loss on a scale rarely seen in modern history. A few bucks here and there can make a significant difference. I would like to think they would do what they could for us if we suffered such a catastrophe.

This post is not about contributing money. Laugh if you want but we have an untapped resource to help those rendered homeless by the tsunami: shipping containers that are piling up in this country. They can be transported to the devastated areas and converted easily into makeshift shelters.

Got the idea when I saw this link. nomadic housing escape artist

And then found this one, also relevant: shipping containers piling up on east coast - housing

This is not on par with giving a homeless person a shopping cart and saying "I care." We have a lot of containers that are a problem for us. The tsunami survivors need immediate makeshift shelter as many are sleeping out in the open. The box itself is a basis from which to start building so it provides a head start in construction. Natural resources will be conserved by not having to cut down more trees to make makeshift shelters that will be trashed sooner or later anyway.

Please take this idea as it was intended, I don't mean to offend. On the chance the right person sees this idea, likes it, and can act on it, is why I'm posting it.
