U.N. unqualified for relief effort

Did I hear correctly?

Is the United States turning over millions of dollars to the United Nations and its agencies to relieve the immense suffering of millions victimized by the 9.0 South Asia earthquake and resultant tsunami?

How is this possible given the latest scandalous news about the United Nations?

Forget the "oil-for-food" scandal in which U.N. officials and their designates received millions in payoffs.

Forget the lack of accountability this global agency has demonstrated over the years.

Forget the way the United Nations oversaw genocide in Rwanda.

Forget the fact that the United Nations has never, ever in the history of the world done more good than harm wherever it has been deployed in humanitarian efforts.

Let's just for a moment look at what the United Nations is doing right now in the Congo.

U.N. officials there have turned a relief effort into one giant sex slavery ring.

The London Times reported before Christmas how a U.N. logistics expert from France working in a $700 million-a-year rebuilding effort in that country turned his bedroom into a studio for videotaping and photographing sex sessions with young girls.

When the police arrived, the man was allegedly about to rape a 12-year-old girl sent to him in a sting operation, the report said. Three home-made porn videos and more than 50 photographs were found.

And this was no isolated incident in the Congo where there is "rampant sexual exploitation of Congolese girls and women by the U.N.'s 11,000 peacekeepers and 1,000 civilians."

So far, investigations have already turned up 150 allegations of sexual misconduct by peacekeepers and U.N. staff. They include allegations of two Russian pilots based in Mbandaka paying young girls with jars of mayonnaise and jam to have sex with them. They reportedly filmed the sessions and sent the tapes to Russia.

A Moroccan peacekeeping contingent based in Kisangani reportedly hid one of its soldiers in the barracks for a year when he was accused of rape.

And this horror has been continuing for years – so far with not one U.N. official or contractor punished.

More than two years ago, Maj.-Gen. Jean Pierre Ondekane, who later became minister of defense, told a top U.N. official that all the mission in the Congo would be remembered for "for running after little girls."

Most of the sexual abuse and exploitation, says the report, involves trading sex for money, food or jobs. However, some victims say they were raped, but later given food or money to make the incident appear to have been consensual – "rape disguised as prostitution."

Is this what we can expect when the United Nations goes to work in Thailand, in Sri Lanka, in Indonesia and other locations hard hit by perhaps the worst natural disaster since the Flood?

Yes, it is what we should expect.

So why is the U.S. turning over U.S. taxpayer dollars to an incompetent, morally corrupt, unaccountable agency?

Do we want the victims of this natural disaster to be victimized a second time?

Giving these predatory monsters our money and a new relief mission is tantamount to giving them a new license to rape and pillage people who need love and compassion.

This is why the United Nations needs to be destroyed, dismantled, obliterated from the memory of the people of the Earth. As long as it exists, it will siphon off vast amounts of money, manpower and resources that might otherwise accomplish some good.

No matter what horrors the United Nations perpetrates on innocent people, there is no accountability, no punishment, no consequence. That's why it is inevitable that we will only create new victims of this global monstrosity by sending more relief money

How do we begin an effort to rid our country of this leech? A serious effort?

You might want to rethink Unicef (part of UN).

Perhaps, one of these days, we'll wise up and take the first step in removing ourselves from this flakey organization. Until we do that, they appear to be the only recognized international organization that we could go to with our aid. I don't agree with it, but seems to me we have to show our token effort to assist at this point.

There is a call to get the UN out of the US, by a man named Kaloogian in CA. There have been posts on here about that. To get the US out of the UN would take a massive demonstration on our Nations Capitol. A sit in in Washington DEMANDING that we get get out of the UN. I'm Game, and there are a few other larger Organizations. We should search the Web and look to see if we can find them.
I'll check ALIPAC, maybe he knows, send me a mail of what you find and I'll do the same!

the main thing is that we not just sit around reading our computers and that we actually take abundant positive action and quickly. This is what makes America and Americans great.
God Bless....
