I'll ignore the racially sensitive aspects of this question and answer...
Skiing is a very expensive sport. To take a family of four on a ski trip you should be prepared to spend $4000.00 to $5000.00 for a week, plus another $4000.00 on equipment. Black people generally occupy a lower earning segment of our society so you will be likely to see less of them engaging in expensive sports which require expensive equipment.
That said...
Kofi Annan makes over $300,000.00 per year, plus all the money he has managed to steal via Oil-for-Food, so he can certainly afford to see and be seen in the trendiest of star-studded venues. He might not actually even ski... but he's sporting the goods, that's for sure!
You're exactly right- skiing is extremely expensive, and Jackson Hole is no bargain either. In addition, I bet there will be photos of him skiing..... they will surface.
Americans need to storm the UN, drag him out of the building and burn his body in the street. Then we need to take his corpse and hang it from the Brooklin bridge.
Seriously. I would cry tears of joy.

That's sick. I think that Annan is a corrupt fraud, but that is disgusting.
What would possess you to even say such a thing?
It really wasn't meant to be racially insensitive. On the whole, though, black people do not participate in winter sports much. Maybe that's because they are smart enough to stay where it's warm!!!!
My second point exactly.
Kofi said he 'worked' over those missing 72 hours.
Just what 'work' did he do? What did he mobilize? What did he send? How many people did he put on the ground? What planes were loaded?
From what was said during that press conference, he planned a meeting NEXT FRIGGIN' WEEK!
My first point... was that it appears that "Nero fiddled while Asia burned"...
Or, more accurately, Kofi Skiied and Caroused While Asia Drowned and Rotted
No pun intended, but the word "nero" in Italian means "black".
Everyone else seems to understand my question and its reasonings. Why do you feel the need to take such issue with such a simple, reasonable, harmless request?
Gee, that doesn't work for 43, does it CNN, ABC, NBC/MSNBC, CBS, Newsweek, et al...
Or do you all have a different standard for Mr. Oil For Food?
um......you know she's dead, right (mother teresa)?
Why should I not say such a thing?
Do you know how many Marines and Soldiers this guy has gotten killed both in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Do you have any idea of his connections with Bin Laden?
Do you know how many Rawandan's died while he sat back and did nothing?
So you tell me?
What does he deserve?
LOL.
The funny thing is, I haven't read a single thing the UN has done to date except have meetings.
The president in Crawford has been busy handling this matter.
I haven't read one article yet about anything the UN has done to hanle this crisis. Not one.
They're meeting again on January 5th. A stinkin' meeting.
Have they arranged for ONE airlift of food or medicine? Nope.
No, those work just fine. I would prefer a link to a story I can send on was what I was looking for.
The micro-thin skin and animosity around here kills me. I thought we were supposed to be on the same side here?
Big write up on this in tomorrows NYTimes...right?
I was referring to the DUmmiecrats own 'mother Teresa' aka Mamma T, as I mentioned between the brackets. And she is none other than the philantropist Maria Teresa Thierstein Simoes-Ferreira Heinz Kerry :-)
Per FOX: Senator Leahy has just joined the chorus of critics that the US $35 million is pathetic and is bemoaning the slowness of our response. Like Kofi, Leahy wants Bush to get a broad coalition of Dems and Repubs to move money to help the victims. Note to Leahy: Bush is already moving aid to them.
If Annan donated the cost of just one or two of his handsomely tailored suits to the cause, it'd feed fifty Sri Lankan children for about ten years.
Don't wait for the NYSlimes to criticize Kofi ?
Great post, vanity or not - the UN is like that house guest in the movie "Pacific Heights" with Michael Keaton - seems like an OK thing when they move in, and then things go from bad to worse and when you realize you impossibly bad things are you can't get 'em to leave!
TerAYza Heinz Kerry is dead?
um...you know "Mamma T" refers to John Frenchy Kerry's ketchup-soaked spouse, and not the near-saint of India, right?
