What do the Democrats and Republicans have to do with this? I mean, other than the fact that he's trying to get face time?

Ski vacation, huh? According to Cliff May, the UN pays to monitor the snowpack for alpine ski resorts. Meanwhile the residents along the Indian Ocean are without a tsunami warning system.

There is now a U.N. resolution ordering Asian nations to install a tsunami warning system within the next year, or else...

Just that: face time. How I wish he and Clinton would disappear from public view and office.

Kofi Annan was in Jackson Hole. It took him over 72 hours to get around to making his first statement.

But the snow was perfect powder! The slopes were ideal!

Priorities...

Wave a subpoena in their faces and we'll never see them again. I'll guarantee it.

Sorry Neocon, I can't supply a link yet. It didn't appear online anywhere, the story is just too fresh. This is information that I gleaned from a news conference on CNN.

It's on all the channels, you'll have to catch it online.

I'm sure if you surf, you can find a transcript. Maybe someone can point you to a good news site which is fast with transcripts (C-Span?).

I'm just afraid that the MSM will let this important story die. At the end of the news conference, a fawning sycophant bimbo reporter tried to prop the ruffley-feathered Kofi back up by saying that "some will use this as a political football to kick the UN...blah blah blah..."

The leftist press is already spinning this for the stunned Annan. He looked like a deer in the headlights when the first reporter hit him with the question about him lolling around on vacation for three days before he dragged his lazy thieving a$$ in front of the cameras.

To the NEW YORK TIMES: Remember! This is ANNAN's job, NOT President Bush's.

Has that Vietnam 4-month vet, John Kerry, been heard from yet or is he STILL on vacation?

I heard the Leahy news on the car radio a couple hours ago.

Predictably climbing aboard the Bush-bashing train.

Just when you think they couldn't contort themselves more to attack someone when that someone is actually doing the right and good thing, they outdo themselves. This truly has a been a sickening spectacle to behold.

The fact that Annan was actually on a pleasure vacation (unlike President Bush who was not at some ritzy resort but his own home--working and actually producing results) will hopefully help quell this insanity.

Posting news you hear on a cable news channel is not a vanity.

Just curious about your tagline. "Done. Wash your hands?"

I don't get it?

Perhaps I should post a final flame-out vanity thread, but today it seems like FReepers are really turning in on themselves.....

Perhaps everyone is on edge because of the tsunami catastrophe? but it seems like I cannot get through reading one thread without FReepers jumping all over each other. Wouldn't our energies be better served in other ways?

I guess Kerry is satisfied that the UN will take care of everything. Meanwhile, there are bodies to be buried, water and food needed by the survivors, but what the heck, he's busy skiing.

Well, for starters, he's not alone in getting our boys killed. What about our supposed allies who sat on their hands through all of those things? Are you going to kill all of them and string up their burnt bodies from the nearest lampposts? As what? An object lesson?

I've already stated that I think he's a corrupt fraud. Let me also say I think he's a complete failure as head of the UN, and as a human being and should be GONE. From the UN and from our soil, STAT. I wouldn't have a problem with trying HIM for crimes against humanity.

That doesn't mean I think he ought to be lynched. I personally don't believe in that sort of thing. You wanted an answer, there it is. I don't care to descend to the level of our enemies.

We've seen so many DU'ers and newbies sounding like UN apologists that we're suspicious.
