I read this article twice, and nowhere does it say he was cheered!

Kerry cheered in Baghdad, decries Bush team's 'blunders' Once criticized for war stance, he says force alone won't win - Borzou Daragahi, Chronicle Foreign Service Thursday, January 6, 2005

Baghdad -- Sen. John Kerry, whose seemingly shifting positions on the U.S. war in Iraq plagued him throughout his presidential campaign, came to this war- torn capital Wednesday to see for himself whether the country was moving toward stability or deeper into chaos.

Kerry, who repeatedly charged during the presidential campaign that President Bush had botched the war effort, was greeted warmly by U.S. soldiers in Baghdad.

Even if you saw a photo of troops cheering, don't believe it unless corroborated by video that proves no trooper was off to the side making the "L"oser sign out of view of the still shot!

Alert: In a stunning development a major west coast newspaper editorializes news coverage, on, of all things, Kerry and Iraq.

Ping for color me shocked.

Small group = 2 reporters and 2 stooges from the U.N.? HA!

"But we are at war, and I think you can't really make all the judgments that you need to make without digging in."

Did Kerry not have a "plan" for Iraq during the campaign? Apparantly, whatever that plan was (go to his website), it was done without "digging in."

"I'll believe "cheering" when I see the video, and not a moment before."

Even videos can be doctored. Ask Hillary!

Yes, and look at the woman's hand in the background. It's almost as if she is restraining her middle finger from making an appearance for traitor Kerry.

Excellent point. You're of course talking about the NY post-9/11 concert video where the crowd's booing was edited out.

The soldiers who greeted Kerry warmly were from Massachusetts.

My guess is that a bit of self preservation accompanied their welcome to their senator.

My response to the SFgate:
Look folks,
You know the Senator was only greeted with a minimal response by those ordered to interface
with him had to do their duty. Surely 99.9% of those that had to be in his presence would have much
prefered he never showed up. Get a life will ya. Surely the senator's war years and afterward record
will stay with him till he is in the grave and long afterward . When you publish such manure it simply indicates you like most of the news media simply have no honor nor sense of honesty. The senator made it perfectly clear prior to, and during his campaign where he has stood over the years on national defense, and a strong military. Hey, why don't you write a detailed article about his deliquency from attending senate meetings on Intellegience. Lets see if your capable of presenting a balance view point.

With less then friendly regards,
George from PA.

Help me here. Reading the SFgate article, I cannot tell WHERE Kerry was when he was greeted warmly. Was it when he spoke with the "about 20 soldiers", and were the comments about the screw ups he made made to the soldiers, or to the reporters and "non governmental" officials at the restaurant. And who were those people anyway? Now he meets with Allawi, but when Allawi visits the U.S. he snubs him?
