John Fund's Wall Street Journal article has been posted twice on FR. There is some biographical information on Sharkansky in the article.

I haven't kept up with these threads too closely but it seems to me that Rossi is entirely within his rights to ask for the re-vote in light of the allegations of vote fruad. What's your take on the situation?

Gregoire will be sworn in on Wednesday. The legislature certifies her election tomorrow. The fix is in on that one no matter what evidence shows up.

"No vote should go uncounted"

Corollary:

"No fraudulent vote should go unpunished"

As I see it, it's a race between court actions and law enforcement actions. I think the term is "strategery".

The decision to go to Eastern Washington indicates a belief that a judge in Wenatchee and the state appeals court in Eastern Washington will give the Republicans a judgment calling for a new election. In the end it will go to the State Supreme Court.

On a parallel track, new AG Rob McKenna will be investigating the shenanigans in King County from a criminal point of view. Smaller fish will turn and bring in bigger fish, etc. The goal is to nail Ron Sims. Already there is word that the FBI is nosing around the King County elections office because a presidential election was involved. This increases the probability of something turning up.

Although the local MSM is in the tank for Gregoire, the bloggers are doing their job, and eventually one of the papers or TV stations will break the story. This is getting too big to hide.

By the time the State Supreme Court gets the case, I believe the intent is to have a combination of arrests and sourced stories in the MSM that will prevent the court from simply handing this one to the Democrats. The idea is to inform the public and get it riled up enough that a revote becomes inevitable.

Absolutely.

You might like to read this as it has a summary of the salient points in the legal challenge Rossi filed: written by John Fund of "The Wall Street Opinion Journal" --

I can't stand that that women is going to be sworn in! I don't even live in Washington and it's making me so angry! Ok and I've already asked the recall question and gotten the answer ,she has to do somenting really bad, once she's already in office.It's based on performance.But come on guys ,if it's proven there has been blatent fraud, I dont care if she's already been sworn in or not.I don't even care if she didn't know anything about the fraud, this is bigger than that. This cheating is threatening our democracy and somehow has to be stopped!

Hope you're right. Ceteris paribus, the WSC will simply hand it to the Dems and laugh at you.

The election will be put on trial in Chelan County in a week or two.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this...although I live on the other side of the country and can't make a difference, so if you don't have time, don't worry about it.

More important it now looks like there will be PROOF the democrats can't be trusted to run a fair election.

It will be interesting to see the hoop jumping and back flips the MSM will do to not cover this story.

I personally considered the concept of a re-vote to be an absurd long shot. HOWEVER if this is developed into concrete proof, and the election workers manage to literally stay alive, then it is starting to look postive.

i expect the MSM will continue to do the LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALLA depth of examination.

Reminds me of Shakespeare's Macbeth (Act IV, Scene 1):

Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd.
Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin'd.
Harpier cries:—'tis time! 'tis time!

Round about the caldron go;
In the poison'd entrails throw.—
Toad, that under cold stone,
Days and nights has thirty-one;
Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot!

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
Witches' mummy; maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark;
Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark;
Liver of blaspheming Jew;
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse;
Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,—
Make the gruel thick and slab:
Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
For the ingrediants of our caldron.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.

Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.
