"I have a few cows w/calves. They are very happy, indeed spoiled. But the calves are beef..."
Grass fed, I hope. As you know, grass fed produces much healthier-to-eat steak than grain fed. My beefalo are grazed. Happy too! They have a really nasty moo for the PETA types.

On the one hand, I think PETA are full of bullsh*t (no pun untended), and I thoroughly enjoy watching them get a beating in the courts. I'd like to see them countersued one day and udderly (pun fully intended) ruined. On the other hand, I also do not agree that government agencies are exempt from truth in advertising laws. It opens up too big a hole for liberal propaganda. PETA lost this one for the wrong reason. Their case could not have stood on its own merits. How can PETA prove the mental state of an animal and whether or not it's happy or not?Excellent points you've raised. I don't think government agencies should be exempt from the laws that the rest of us have to comply with.
And, IMO, cattle don't care where they are standing as long as there is food within reach.
My girls are driving me crazy...they want the nice baled hay I provide (as I deem needed) instead of the dried grass in the pasture. I can tell you exactly what they are thinking when they stand at the empty hayring mooing (or bellowing).

Grain costs money....I believe in cheap. I spent a fortune getting my pasture renewed...the girls and their babies better like it. :-)

Got a male calf for my birthday years back from my wife (ex wife now). Took the thing to the field and let him out. The horses chased him and he jumps the fence. Took me forever to get him back. Can't believe that my ex-wife gave me a bum steer.

California cows actually lead harsh lives in grubby fields before being slaughtered. Someone in NY needs to send a senator on a fact-finding mission.

You thinks the way to sell "ideas" is to launch unprovoked personal attacks without having a clue as to what you are talking about. With your skill at sales you would do far worse at gaining support than the Libertarian Party does.

You guys are lucky! I really, really, really want some land where I can raise some grass fed stock!! My ancestral genes are calling....and I'm so tired of the tastless super market stuff!! Do either of you do intensive grazing?

"the appellate justices....held that a "plain reading" of the state's unfair competition law -- Business & Professions Code §17200 -- shows that public entities, such as the milk board, aren't subject to false advertising suits." The PETA lawyers do the best job of milking PETA using frivolous lawsuits, don't they?

It claims that California cows live in feces-soaked dirt lots devoid of vegetation I got this picture by Googling "california cows". They look happy to me. The one on the right is showing PETA where they can kiss her.

Two problems with your arguement:
- A lot of libertarians vote republican just to keep the democrats out of office. Sure, they'd prefer their candidate to win, but not so much to take the risk that the democrat might get in.
- Where there is no significant observable differences between the republican and democrat candidates on subjects that matter to libertarians, they tend to vote for their candidate and spoil the race to the democrat. Just look at the most recent governer's race in Oregon.
I have a theory that without the libertarians, there would be a lot more RINOs out there in office. I don't know how to test this. I know I personally will vote for a pro-gun libertarian over an anti-gun concessionist RINO any day, if only to remind the republicans to remember who their base is.

I'm for one glad that this radical left wing group lost. They put up their poster ilk, such as comparing the Holocaust to chicken slaughtering and the "None of us is meat crap" showing a woman and a cow.

I've seen the Happy Cow ads and have wondered, do cows have the mental capacity to be happy?
I mean they always look content, but I've heard they're as dumb as a DU poster.
