Member of Al Qaida Linked Group Caught on US-Mexico Border
A man from Bangladesh was arrested last month attempting to illegally cross into the United Stats from Mexico.
Fakhrul Islam was apprehended with 13 other undocumented migrants, including a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang, as they sought to enter the United States by crossing the Rio Grande River near Brownsville, Texas on December 4, the newspaper La Jornada reported.
The arrest has raised new concerns among US security officials about the use of the Mexican border as a transit route for terrorists entering the United States.
Mr. Islam reportedly admitted to having crossed the river illegally, according to charges presented to Border Patrol agents in Brownsville.

Funny how there is no evidence that Mohammad Atta and 9-1-1 had anything to do with Mexico.

I think this is great.
Torture him into telling us everything he knows and then dump him in solitary confinement for the rest of his life.
However, the bigger question is...
How many others have crossed the border successfully?!
We have to do something about border security...and do it now!!!

Before 9/11 there was little need to sneak in through Mexico, they could just apply for a student visa and come on in.

This is not realyl directed towards you MplsSteve, just a thought. Seeing how Mexico basically sets our border policies (that is what it looks like to me anyways), I am wondering just what hold Fox has over Bush. Whatever Fox wants Bush seems to capitulate to. Something tells me that whatever it might be it is not on the up and up.
To: Bikers4Bush
"Still think open borders is such a great idea?"
Yeah, really. I thought Bush said that these people are only coming here to take, er, do the 'jobs that we won't do'.
Then again, I guess Bush is right, since none of us will do the job of suicide terrorism.
If any attack ever originates from the Mexican border, it will be the fault of Bush.

They're going to have to close the borders with overwhelming force. The only question is whether it will happen now or after a major attack.

It will be after an attack and after a lame attempt to pin this one on Clintax, rather than the President of the Open Borders during the War On Terror.

Myself and some other TMers would agree with you. There are terrorists among us. Watching and waiting.
Stay Alert. Be Prepared. Pray for the best, but prepare for the worst.
There are also reports that AQ and MS-13 are teaming up. AQ is interested in MS-13's human smuggling routes though mexico.

Yep. Let's face it - the weak-kneed Dems would/will do nothing different. It is up to the GOP to put a stop to this, and at cutting illegal immigration, Bush is not the man for the job.

To: gopwinsin04
The arrest has raised new concerns among US security officials about the use of the Mexican border as a transit route for terrorists entering the United States. New concerns? F'n morons. In fact, many thousands of "special interest aliens" - aliens from (Islamic) counties with known ties to terror - have been apprehended at the U.S. border since 9/11/01. How many have actually made it across is anyone's guess, but I suspect the #s aren't pretty.

This isn't a smoking gun...yet...it is a loaded gun, pointed at the heads of all Americans.
I defy somebody to spin this article as a racist, xenophobic diatribe. You may try...but you are wasting your time. Your credibility is shot.
What leap of faith does it take to deny the possibility of terrorists having the financial means to pay a Mexican or South American gang to smuggle some of their members across the border from Mexico, using the same routes and logistics that other illegals use.

This morning there was a short clip on Fox News about ties between illegal alien smuggler gangs and middle eastern terrorists. Apparently the US government, *our* government, is trying to downplay the significance of these kinds of stories.

Bush should have it done now. If there is a major attack, it will become "Open Season" on terrorists.
