The East part of Multnomah County is going to be hit very soon with lower temperatures and perhaps snow or freezing rain blasting out of the Gorge. Snow may be falling in Troutdale right now. I have some friends living out on the Sandy River and they may soon be wishing they had rented a warm hotel room in SW Portland.
In The Dalles I just stepped outside to replace the hummingbird feeder (dang thing keeps freezing up!) and the dry snowflakes are coming down on the blackberry leaves like dry sand or something. Makes kind of a sifting noise. The temp has gone down 2 degrees in the past hour. Now 20 degrees. About one inch on the ground so far.
