A family of Christians who fled persecution in Egypt ran into a bloody nightmare in Jersey City - where the husband, wife and their two daughters were found knifed to death in their home yesterday.

The bodies of Hossam Armanious, 46, his wife, Amal Garas, and their two youg daughters - Sylvia, 15, and Monica, 8 - were found gagged with their throats slit at 4 a.m. yesterday inside the green, two-story, wood-frame home they moved into five years ago.

Investigators were struggling to figure out who could have slaughtered the religiously devout family.

Jersey City Police Chief Robert Troy Said police are leaning toward the suspects being at least an aquaintance, after finding no sign of break-in.

"I don't believe it was random," he said. "They probably knew their killers."

Rafique Iscandar, 51, who described himself as Armanious' best friend, said his pal also came (to America) because of the pressure of being Christian in the Muslim Egypt.

"They were afraid there," Iscandar said. "They are under siege by the government. We lived in fear."

IMHO, that day will happen....and it will more likely than not occur because of the pourous borders. It's only a matter of time. The politicians will then cover it up....will never admit they came through Mexico (and Canada). To think otherwise one must have their heads in the sand (or another place), as the politicans currently do.

This is an awful, awful tragedy. It obviously has something to do with the reason they fled Egypt to begin with. Prayers going up for them.

That day will come. But they won't be able to hide or pass the buck. We won't let them cover it up. There will be such an outrage in this country that has never been heard before.

We will do something...what, I don't know. I suspect we will drive them from office. We'll be putting up pictures like sKerry and hillary hugging and kissing on terrorist. They will all draw our ire.

Yes, and it scares me to death. I've got two daughters in the LA area....that's a target area, plus they're close to Mexico; lots of illegal aliens there and all around So. Cal.
