In the television categories, "Desperate Housewives" was prominent in its first season and the made-for-TV movie "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" scored four nominations.

Is that Star's husband? He looks different than the pictures I've seen---maybe it's because this is in profile. If it's him he looks more manly here.

You got that right, pay to play guide.

Not only that but I think people who have satellite and digital cable have guided menus so they can search what is on manually. I hardly watched TV Guide channel when I had basic cable. But now since I have Directv I don't watch it at all. It is just another useless channel to me now.

Let's count how many posts of the "I never watch movies/tv etc can't believe you people care etc" there will be on this thread. Anyway, I can't wait to see who is "wearing" what, and the jewels!

Can't you people give the politics a rest for a few hours and enjoy an awards ceremony for it's own sake? Must you make everything into a Republican-Democrat battle? Jeez, If I thought about movies and entertainment the same way some narrow-focused FReepers here do, I'd never leave my house.

Listen, I'm getting a bit tired of these threads devolving into tired, utterly irrelevant "but (so-and-so) is a lefty and I'm not givin' my time to that der cesspool!" nonsense. My Question: SO F'N WHAT? What makes A good film is not at all dictated by the personal political views of it's makers. Example: I may agree with Dennis Miller on many political issues, but Sean Penn (a radical liberal) can act the pants off Miller any day of the week. In fact, I'd have to say that Penn is one of our finest living actors.
In turn, Bruce Willis (a rare Hollywood righty) is a far better and more versatile actor than left-leaning Julia Roberts. In neither case does it really matter.

Please save the sourpuss, killjoy shtick for another day and leave this thread to the people who actually CARE about the subject at hand. That's not too much to ask for.

P.S.= Enjoy the Globes everybody, and make sure to get up early for the Oscar nominations announcement on January 25!

I saw Joan interview them...charming.

Anyone seeing this young guy Joan is speaking to? He looks like a young Paul Newman.

I have absolutely no interest in watching this bloated spectacle. And I sure do not want to watch nor can I stand Joan and Melissa and their whining voices.
Just give the awards to the most Left Wing Liberals in Hollywood and call it a night.
Last night I finally got around to watching the 4 hours I had taped of "24" and man I could not get enough of it. It had me on edge from the first minute and Jack Bauer is once again the Man. We need him running Homeland Security and William Devane as the President.

Oh, come on. It is annoying to have to abide the inane political offerings from some of these twits and some have crossed the line to the point where I can't bear to watch them anymore.

That is a valid point to make on these types of threads.

RE: "JAMIE FOXX -COLLATERAL"

Foxx was excellent in Collateral as a sympathetic everyman driven to the edge by Tom Cruise's hitman, I'll give you that. But I still don't understand how ANYBODY (Golden Globes included), using any kind of twisted logic, can possibly view his performance as anything but the leading role in the film. The picture is largely seen through his eyes, his pov, and Foxx has the most screen time and the most dialogue in Collateral.

I wonder if this sly ploy to get Foxx a double-nomination (with, of course, a leading nomination for Ray) will work at the Oscars as well, as it did when Ethan Hawke was nominated a few years back for playing the LEAD in Training Day.

I don't apologize for calling you "dumb" freedumb. GEt a clue - buy one if you have to, but get with the program, honey. We've been doing this since Adam was a child (and Eve was but a thought in the Father's mind -- you know we women are always younger than men!).

That said, we love ya and do, buy a clue.
