The Thai's are, unfortunantly, guity of the same thing we are in the West - that is, trying to avoid facing the horrible truth about what Islam really represents.

Islam is basically Nazism without the handsome uniforms.

Why are they also called "insurgents" in Thailand?

There have been religions that practiced sacrificing the first-born in the fiery furnace of an idol's mouth; and the Israelites were commanded to kill them all.

No sane people can or should tolerate a religion that demands the death of innocents. Of course ,no sane people would tolerate a political system that promotes the killing of the unborn. Every day of every week of every year Americans kill MORE future citizens than the Mohammedans did on the ONE day they brought their violence to U.S. soil.

Hey, thats the way to stay on topic. We are discussing the murdering muslims right now. Other threads are talking about the murdering abortionists.

To his credit, Prime Minister Thaksin Toxin has made some attempts to deal with the Islamic violence in the south.

Yea, dropping all the paper birds over the southern provinces was a great idea...

Thaksin and his administration like to blame Muslim violence on hooligans or gang members rather than accept the completely obvious

You forgot the ever convenient, "it is because they are all on drugs" line. LOL!

I was kind of trying to point out that ignoring what's killing your citizens is insane,be a cult of religion or convenience.

"You forgot the ever convenient, 'it is because they are all on drugs' line. LOL!"

Hehehehehe. Right you are. Well, ya know, drugs create the terror problem in the Kingdom's south, the causes of this drug problem are surely Internet cafe's and nightspots, therefore a further crackdown on the dark influences of Internet cafe's and nightspots throughout the entire country must be the solution to the Muslim terror problem in the south. LOL.

Actually, and despite his often bizarre rhetoric, I suspect Thaksin does have some idea that he is dealing with far more than drug addicted gang members, but recall each time he has reacted forcefully he's been ferociously slapped down by NGO's, his neighbors, the West and even the too-docile-of-late Thai press.

Unfortunantly, one of the side effects of the tsunami was to give Thaksin an opportunity to shine in a crisis and has resulted in his approval ratings skyrocketing in the latest public approval survey's. With the Democrats in disarray, it appears TRT will win a massive victory in the upcoming elections. I would only be half joking if I said I wouldn't be surprised to see national bedtime legislation enacted as a way to improve social order and combat terrorism.

"Yeah, but NOODLES?"

I believe noodles are indeed fair game. This class of foodstuffs may have quietly slipped into the un-Islamic category due to the fact that infidel corporations run by non-believers are manufacturing them. It's all very confusing to the jihadi's as some noodles are deemed halal and some not, therefore many noodle stands are bombed unnecessarily all the while others are left to peddle their unclean product without appropriate terror attacks. I understand further clarification by a blue ribbon panel of Ayatollah's, Mufti's, Imam's, and Sheik's is forthcoming :)

I thought it was brilliant when they blew up the Mosque last April. Hell of a way to negotiate.

Too bad I haven't been in Thailand for the past few months. I was trying to get my Thai friends to make paper birds out of pages of the Koran. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of them to go along with it.

I would only be half joking if I said I wouldn't be surprised to see national bedtime legislation enacted as a way to improve social order and combat terrorism.

His corporations and friends can't make money off a 'national bedtime' so I doubt he would do it. Maybe he can issue a 'I-am-allowed-out-after-10-pm card' for anyone who wants to pay 5 million baht. I am curious how much his net worth is going to go up with all the rebuilding work from the Tsunami.

"I thought it was brilliant when they blew up the Mosque last April. Hell of a way to negotiate."

That is the correct way to negotiate with Islamists, though suffocating 78 of their brethren by stuffing them in the back of trucks for 6-7 hours while hauling them to detention centers might have taken some of the shine off the security forces raid on the mosque. Thaksin says these suspects were weak from fasting and that his interior police did nothing wrong, so in this one rare instance I will give the PM the benefit of the doubt ;)

"Maybe he can issue a 'I-am-allowed-out-after-10-pm card' for anyone who wants to pay 5 million baht."

Ahh, you've given yourself away as a Thailand Elite Card customer. LOL. I am shocked that with such a great offer only a handful of the expected 100,000 cards have so far been gobbled up. Who wouldn't want to spend 1 million baht for a card that claims to allow the purchase of land while the relevent statutes clearly state that any such claim is completely wrong and would be a total violation of existing law?

"Too bad I haven't been in Thailand for the past few months. I was trying to get my Thai friends to make paper birds out of pages of the Koran. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of them to go along with it."

Hehehehe. I just recently returned from the Kingdom and am now kicking myself for having failed to participate in the oragami bombing raid. Though, I don't know if I'd have made paper birds as somehow I think paper pigs signed by Israeli backpackers might've sent a more suitable message :) Oh well, I'll be back soon so I can make up for my oversight at some future date.
