Also meant to say there have been regional newspaper articles in the last couple of weeks about deficiencies with the spotty camera network between Washington and B.C. Poor maintenance, etc. So there really isn't anything new there. I do share people's concern for the residents of Boston and everywhere. Certainly to include the poorer neighborhoods!

Good question about the lack of coverage. You've got me. Someone ought to say something, come clean with what they can say. Some concrete info, even if it's not much, is far better than letting our imaginations fill in the blanks. And I'm with American in Tokyo. There are three hundred million of us and a handful of them. If the threat's for real, more eyes could help.

The mayor of Boston was just on the radio making a statement meant to be calming. He did say, though, that the report is of a threat to Boston or New York. The MA governor is on his way back to MA from DC. He did say he'd been having meetings with his security all day. He was notified about 8:00 a.m. (Howie Carr noted the possibility that this info wasn't supposed to go public but somehow did.)
