"A so called "dirty bomb" has nothing to do with a nuclear explosion."

A distinction too few understand, brooklyn.

A great practical response guide, well worth bookmarking, is;

Romney Heads Home After Alert About Possible Terror

BOSTON -- The FBI notified Boston area law enforcement Wednesday to be on the lookout for four people described as possible terror suspects who may be headed to the area.

A federal law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the matter remains under investigation, told The Associated Press that the FBI's joint terrorism task force has not yet corroborated a tip that the suspects entered the United States through Mexico in recent days, possibly bound for Boston.

The official stressed the tip is one of many from around the country that routinely are forwarded to local task forces for further investigation. No credible, specific terror threat has been identified in connection with the tip about suspects possibly entering the country from Mexico.

The investigation prompted Gov. Mitt Romney, who was in Washington to attend Thursday's presidential inauguration, to decided to return to Boston later Wednesday evening, his spokesman, Eric Fehrnstrom said. The governor planned to hold a news conference in Washington Wednesday night to discuss the matter before returning home.

FBI spokeswoman Gail Marcinkiewicz said the terror alert had not been raised for Boston.

"Basically, what you have here is information that we often get," she said. "It's uncorroborated at this time."

"It's been passed on to our law enforcement partners and we're working it aggressively," she said.

Among the law enforcement agencies alerted was the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, where Deputy Chief Paul MacMillan told the AP that an "alert bulletin" was issued to its officers, as well as subway, train, bus and station workers to be on the lookout for the individuals.

"There is no specific threat or target indicated," he said, declining to discuss the details further. (AP)

This could be a diversion for their real target --- Washington.

Every rad flea -- a fleck or mote of radioactive material -- has the very helpful property of identifying itself to any giegertube around. They can't hide easily.

Anybody sailing across the ocean on a yacht with a dirty bomb would be DEAD from the radiation long before they reach North America. If they had enough shielding to make it, the boat would be swamped.

Water makes a decent radiation shield.

Toss it overboard with 400 feet of cable, and drag it along underneath the ship. When you get close to the US, have a small motorboat tow it to shore at some deserted stretch

And AlQ has demonstrated that they have a few people who don't mind dying.

Y'all might be interested in this thread.....Fox just made an announcement...police say no corroboration yet...but they've posted pics of 4 Chinese terrorist suspects, rumored to have brought in dirty bombs to Taxachusetts from Mexico....again, uncorroborated at this time.

<< Decoy? >>

Yes I have been thinking that all afternoon.

For them to blow their cover so blatantly seems odd to me.

I guess, we can only wait and pray.

Has anyone seen photos of the 2 Iraqis in question?

I screencapped the 4 'Chinese', but haven't seen any pix of the Iraqis. Curious....

horses..land animals.

birds....air.

Is this implying an air attack? Well, of course, who knows. And, I seriously question the crediblity of the other site, as well as the Islamic webpages.
I guess we will find out, hopefully not for the worse.

Is the fourth photo that of a woman, or posing as one? Their eyebrows are plucked.

All we saw on the news here are the 4 Chinese. I may be mistaken, but I'm not even sure that there are photos of the Iraqis in question to release. If there are, we haven't seen them yet either.

Most South-East Asians have larger eyes. My vote would be northern China/Korea.

I'm sorry, but I can't tell their ethnicity by those pics....(and why would they call them Chinese if actually a different ethnicity?)...but it seems that Indonesians would be more likely to attack us than the Chinese, in that they have many muslims.

this location should be vaporized and made unihabitable for a thousand years:

Because radioactive dust was spread over Boston or somewhere and the residents had to be evacuated for a few months? Is that a proportionate response?

Doing that might make you feel better for a few minutes but it would guarantee a thousand years of war to follow. Many of the moderate or neutral counties (including European) would declare themselves as enemies of the U.S. and would swiftly act to shutdown American-owned companies and trade thereof. Within a few hours of destroying Mecca hundreds of Americans would be executed in overseas countries. The Suez Canal and other strategic transit points would be closed to American interests. This all would occur in the first few days.

Is this the world you'd want to live in? Even in a religious war, you want to be a bit more selective in your targeting. I am a Catholic and wouldn't consider it proportionate if some military nuked the Vatican because some hypothetical Catholic fringe group exploded a bomb in their city. I won't be on the net for a few hours but folks should go ahead and flame me, I enjoy it.

Who knows if it wasn't one of their own who threw the information over the fence.....just to see what we'd do?

Doug, are you in DC?

Have the Iraqi reports been denied? It may have just been initial info that was incorrect, or they just do not have pictures to release.
