from one extreme to another....

What is your point?

Killing Christians in the USA because they are Christians is, shall we agree, extereme.

What is the another extreme? Honest question.

If you'd like to be on this middle east/political ping list, please FR mail me.

Unity meeting? All the Muslims had to do was skip the funeral. Or if the Muslim community felt a need to attend out of conscience, just don't riot.

Check this out from the article:
Imam Mohammad Qatanani, spiritual leader of the Islamic Center of Passaic County, said what was done to the Armanious family is forbidden by Islam. "Islam is the religion of love and peace, the religion of not hurting, the religion of respecting life and humanity," he said. "What happened is against the religion of Islam, the religion of Christianity, and the religion of Judaism."

The Copts were no shows because they're sick and tired of such bllsht and don't want to be exploited by the Muzzies for TV and newspaper photo ops. Why should they get Islam off the hook, why should they make Islam look good?

Muslims are deceiving themselves when they trust the moon god...he may promise paradise (infantile as it sounds) but consider that Allah and Mohammed might be lying. And why not, a religion based on lying could only be designed by a liar.

Muhammad fell prey to his hallucinations out in the desert and presented them to the Arabians as revelations from Allah

Muhammad fell prey to his hallucinations out in the desert and presented them to the Arabians as revelations from Allah.

And they believed it: hook, line and sinker.

If one believes in the existence of a spiritual world, one can see a clear influence of that world in Islam (of the demonic kind).

If one does not believe in that world (the spiritual world)...Islam is evil just by what it has done in this realm...in this reality.

The extreme is you hate me, I hate you.

I understand that there are a lot fanatics in the world that are inspired to commit acts of violence and to foster hate and prejudice. I just don't think that, behaving in a similar fashion or promoting such a mentality is Christ-like behavior.

Exactly where is the killing of infidels forbidden? What does the Qur'an say that prohibits this...

There is 5:8.

O ye who believe! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly, that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do.

5:32

For that cause We decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth.

6:151

Say: Come, I will recite unto you that which your Lord hath made a sacred duty for you: That ye ascribe no thing as partner unto Him and that ye do good to parents, and that ye slay not your children because of penury - We provide for you and for them - and that ye draw not nigh to lewd things whether open or concealed. And that ye slay not the life which Allah hath made sacred, save in the course of justice. This He hath command you, in order that ye may discern.

7:199

Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant.

42:42

The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom.

And, 22:38

Lo! Allah defendeth those who are true. Lo! Allah loveth not each treacherous ingrate.

And the whole chapter 109

Say: O disbelievers!

I worship not that which ye worship;

Nor worship ye that which I worship.

And I shall not worship that which ye worship.

Nor will ye worship that which I worship.

Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.

On the other hand, there's 2:114

And who doth greater wrong than he who forbiddeth the approach to the sanctuaries of Allah lest His name should be mentioned therein, and striveth for their ruin. As for such, it was never meant that they should enter them except in fear. Theirs in the world is ignominy and theirs in the Hereafter is an awful doom.

And the confusing and contradictory series of verses 2:190-194

Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.

And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers.

But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers.

The forbidden month for the forbidden month, and forbidden things in retaliation. And one who attacketh you, attack him in like manner as he attacked you. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is with those who ward off (evil).

And 5:33

The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom;

However, the Saudi chief preacher has stated the following to the crowds at Mecca for their pilgrimage:

"The greatest affliction to strike the nation of Islam came from some of its own sons, who were lured by the devil," he said. "They have called the nation infidel, they have shed protected blood and they have spread vice on earth, with explosions and destruction and killing of innocents."

He pointedly asked of Muslim youth: "How would you meet God? With innocent blood you shed or helped shed?"

Thx...I have read and will reread...those of us that are so frustrated with Islam need this kind of stuff...we are not evil and know that there are many, many fine Muslims...join with us to heal the breach.

Txh for your courage.

The free world should know or will find out soon that Islam will attempt to dominate a host country as soon as it has numbers to support the action. The religion of Islam itself was created by Mohammud for the sole purpose of conquering other nations. If the Western nations can't bust out of their self imposed politically correct prisons they will become easy pickens for the Muslum hoards.

Nota bene: I was raised Methodist, and am presently in RCIA, the process of converting to Catholicism.

I think it's important to study other religions, especially ones which hold sway over so many people. So I read the Koran; to be honest, to me it didn't seem all that much different from the Old Testament.

I also think it's critically important to keep America as a bastion of free exercise of religion, no matter what.

I agree but we must bring all together and get rid of hatred and murder. I too have considered Catholicism but could not make the leap (raised Methodist also). I couldn't accept the purgatory thing...I am unwilling to say the Blood of Jesus isn't enough. Not saying that I criticize Cathocism...I don't (it is wonderful)...just I am in a place where my devotion to Jesus doesn't permit me to make such a statement). If Jesus says, go to purgatory...no problem. But I am not going to take that position myself.

Yeah, I understand. My maternal grandparents were Catholic; for reasons unknown to me my parents raised us Methodist.

On the occasions that I took my grandmother to mass, though... I felt right there. It's hard to define, and that's something I am trying to do before going further. What exactly is driving me?

But that's neither here nor there... I believe that whatever the Ultimate Truth is, as a temporal society we must respect the free will of others to worship as they choose, and Government must not interfere with that.
