Sgt. 1st Class Jeff Due, right, a U.S. Army recruiter, is surrounded by protesters at Seattle Central Community College, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in Seattle. After about a 10-minute standoff during which protesters tore up U.S Army literature, the protesters were successful in getting Due and another recruiter to leave their table under escort by campus security officers. Several hundred students walked out of classes at several Seattle colleges and universities to protest the inauguration of President Bush.
Comment and question: The scum of Seattle usurp the right of this Sgt's rightful work assignment and duty to do his job. Where was the Seattle Police Department and their duty to protect Sgt. Due's rights???
Probably afraid to take any action that might be deemed politically incorrect. Disgraceful!
Like Chief Girl-cow-ski would want to offend the rioters. He's a pu**y.
"Where was the Seattle Police Department and their duty to protect Sgt. Due's rights???"
In my area, municipal cops yeild to the campus police in any issue regading students/campus activity. It's only if the Campus police request backup that the city cops intervene.
Note to self when teaching...next time a planned walkout is to occur, ensure a 50% final grade pop quiz is immediately administered, with a "no make up work" clause inserted in the syllabus.
TOo bad the young recuiter didn't have a can of mace or something for his own personal protection.
Not to mention destruction of government property, that is the brochures and other literature.
The leadoff should be:
"Using tactics similar to Hitler's brownshirts, anti-American protesters today ..."
