It was 6 million Jews and (IIRC) 5 million others, gypsies, gays, Seventh-Day Adventists, and members of other faiths as well, and that's not even including in the "official" count those who fell victim to euthenasia and eugenics.

Darn, he's almost as good as Ann Coulter!
Mark Steyn is to Ann Coulter as
HL Mencken is to Molly Ivins.

I think over 50,000,000 died in WWll and the Germans started it,
Hitler would have never got traction without an economy ruined by rapacious France and the Versailles Treaty. The culprit behind the killers is Paris.

You have it right; unfortunately, I think few will listen until whatever the 21st Century equivalent of the gas chambers will be are being loaded with the first batch of men, women, and children. Thanks for pinging me to this.

the "late Diana Mosely." Diana Mosely was Oswald Mosely's wife. She shared his taste for fascism.
Steyn wrote a wonderfully reflective article upon her death. She was a colorful recluse, the kind of "character" that he enjoys painting with words.

Yea, that's a great line isn't it?
It's really difficult to believe that Mr. Steyn is a Canadian.

I am a Jew, and I assumed he was Jewish, too.
If level-headed Steyn thinks Europe is drowning in masqueraded anti-Semitism, it's time to worry. I speak with people in Europe and they are led to believe in their newspapers that Israel is the devil and the Palestinians are the innocents. It boggles the mind.
If you can get Europeans to sympathize with suicide bombers, then another Holocaust could well happen. My grandfather was dead wrong in 1935 or so when he didn't believe it could happen in Germany. People who don't think it could happen again could be just as wrong.

Jews in Europe need to head now for Israel or the U.S. Hindsight is sometimes the best foresight. Better safe than sorry.

He wouldn't have signed the Balfour Declaration? That's disappointing to hear.

That automatically makes you an anti-semite, I'd say. The thing is you cannot just stand on the sideline regarding anti-semitism. You have to prove your not an anti-semite. Germany can easily do this through military aid (subs for free), massive monetary aid or especially low tariffs. But what can you do? Work in a Kibutz?
To: Martin Tell
I think he's mentioned before that his name is Dutch or Flemish and, being born and raised in Quebec, part of his ancestry may also be French. Even if his name didn't have a faintly Semitic flavor, his writing style (always make them laugh and always leave a bruise) and sense of humor are way too clever for your average gentile. My and many freepers' favorite columnist.

Another Steyn zinger. If I were a thinking European, I'd be very worried. No, as the rest of Europe is apparently brain dead, I'd pack up and leave.
