Homeland Security Agents Force Plane to Land in San Antonio
WOAI ^ | 1/24/2005 | ElephantinTexas

Posted on 01/24/2005 10:12:18 PM PST by ElephantinTexas

This is my first post so I hope I got it right.

This is breaking here in San Anonio. A single engine plane has been forced down at Stenson Field south of San Antonio. Homeland Security, DPS and SAPD are on the scene. They are waiting for a Chinese tranlator but they have Chinese illegals in custody and said that the pilot was someone Homeland Security has been looking for.

I'll post more as it comes available.

Thanks for the link. There are two Cessna 172Ns (not Ms) on the list of planes owned by Alpha Tango. So either the second plane wasn't owned by Alpha Tango or the Austin media made a mistake (which would be very easy to make - Ms and Ns soundand look alike). The tail number of the Austin plane wasn't included in the linked article. And I didn't see a picture of the actual captured Austin plane in the Austin TV station's report.

You're right that I missed the earlier post about Alyce Taylor. The San Antonio Express-News needs to change the sentence of their filler paragraph that includes the registration information to reflect who she is. There's no mystery. And - BTW - Ms. Taylor, since we know you're reading "the Internet", nothing I've posted about you is factually inaccurate. In fact, I haven't arrived at any conclusion regarding whether you or your husband are knowingly involved in an illegal immigrant smuggling ring. I'm just posting the facts.

hehehe....... Paging Mrs. Hameed.... Paging Mrs. Hameed! Your flight is ready to board.

I'm still trying to find this Lebanese website I keep hearing about where our two lovely weasels threatend the CIA.

I'm still laughing at the conservative in nyc.......

I'll see if I can find a pic of the Austin plane. They showed it tonight in a hanger but I couldn't get the number.

Excerpt from:

Aircraft Owner Operates Flight School That Trained One or More Arab Terrorists

"...Further research found that one notable flight student of the ALPHA-TANGO Flying School was none other than Abdul Hakim Murad, who was convicted several years ago of a plot to crash a suicide plane into CIA headquarters. Murad was also named as a co-conspirator of 1993 World Trade Center bombing with Ramzi Yousef. A report in the San Antonio Express-News following the 9/11 attacks states that flight school owner Afzal Hameed contacted the FBI as he believed that some of the 9/11 hijackers might have received flight training at his school."

Still I'd arm it with at least air launched stingers, just so the pilot could stand off a bit. Guns too of course, at least .50 cals, maybe a 20mm gatling type cannon.

Off topic somewhat, but, I saw that the Navy wants this, the MH-60S helicopter, a multi-mission platform the Navy will use to replace the HH-60H Seahawk helicopters.

Armed Helicopter Weapons System (AHWS) {pics @ link}

Weapon capabilities include eight hellfire missiles, carried on external weapon system wings and the AN/AAS-44C forward looking infrared system. Additionally, the mission kit will give the crew capability to fire FN-Herstal’s laser-sighted 7.62 mm guns from the port and starboard cabin windows and laser-sighted GAU-21, 0.50 caliber guns from the port and starboard cabin doors.

I can guarantee that if they go before a judge here in Travis county very little will happen. This county is sooooooo liberal they probably will welcome any illegals and the pot they bring.

Feds Official Report: "China Immigrants Had No Terror Link"

However...

# Aircraft Owner Operates Flight School That Trained One or More Arab Terrorists

# Mexican Pilot Expected to be Charged with Smuggling Illegal Aliens

25 January 2005; 8:15 PM EDT: While the FBI publicly asserts that the possible terrorist plot involving Chinese nationals against Boston last week was a false alarm, a small plane carrying four illegal Chinese immigrants and a pilot identified as a Mexican national landed at Stinson Municipal Airport in San Antonio Monday night. After landing, the airfield was surrounded by FBI and DHS officials. The four passengers - two women and two men carrying Chinese passports were taken into custody along with the Mexican pilot. The single-engine plane was intercepted after flying 125 miles from Eagle Pass, Texas to Stinson Airfield. The Mexican pilot is expected to be charged with smuggling illegal aliens, according to Alonzo Pena, special agent in charge of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in San Antonio.

The 1985 single engine Cessna is owned by Hameed Afzal, 48 and his wife, Alyce S. Taylor, 70 of San Antonio, Texas. Both Afzal and Taylor operate the ALPHA-TANGO Flying School, 9623 W. Terminal, San Antonio, Texas 78126. The 2003 San Antonio Municipal Directory lists Hameed Afzal as the President and Alyce S. Taylor as the Co-owner and instructor of the flight school. Their website advertises special consideration for potential Saudi pilots, and instructions on obtaining student visas.

Interesting Circumstances

News reports indicated that the plane that was carrying the Chinese passengers was last registered in 1999, carrying a three-year registration; no further registration records were found according to the FAA, despite renewal notices sent to Afzal. FAA records identify the plane as a 180 Horse Power, 1985 Lycoming/0-320 SERIES with the of N98873. Research by Northeast Intelligence Network analysts found an accident report associated with that plane dated August 21, 2000 that caused structural damage to the tail and horizontal stabilizer. According to the FAA report, the pilot held a valid Mexican private pilot certificate at the time of the accident.

Further research found that one notable flight student of the ALPHA-TANGO Flying School was none other than Abdul Hakim Murad, who was convicted several years ago of a plot to crash a suicide plane into CIA headquarters. Murad was also named as a co-conspirator of 1993 World Trade Center bombing with Ramzi Yousef. A report in the San Antonio Express-News following the 9/11 attacks states that flight school owner Afzal Hameed contacted the FBI as he believed that some of the 9/11 hijackers might have received flight training at his school.

Great find, WestCoastGal. Hebbronville, hmmmmmmmm? Another deep south Texas city close to the border and in MY backyard. I'm starting to get a little pis&ed off.

Well there wasn't much news today here but I've found some interesting reads on our little buddy, Afzal Hammed that I'll put up here soon.

This thread and FR mentions are really getting around. Here's one at The Command Post.

We live in central Texas and I was saying the other day that since Arizona and California are getting 'somewhat' tougher on border crossers that there will be more than the usual lot coming in through Texas. (Arizona citizens are taking matters into their own hands)

You did a great job on this thread, welcome to a very addictive website!!

Ping me if you can on anything new, my comments page runs quickly and I sometimes forget to go back through it.

Here's a bit of an update of the Delaware co. that's been listed for Hameed's plane from CNN. Scroll down to the last 3 paragraphs.

More Delaware info-

Not sure if or how this connects, but here's a rather disturbing article with another plane tied to 30 Old Rudnick Lane Dover, DI. 19901
