There's no real scrutiny of our publik school systems on anything these days, let alone sexual abuse.
If the truth about the prevalence of sexual abuse by teachers and faculty were known, it would probably make the Catholic Church sex abuse scandals look insignificant. But for some reason, the media usually doesn't want to go there.

It's curious that the media would be afraid to take on the teachers' union.
It almost makes today's teachers' union sound as bad as back in the old days with the Teamsters, the Steelworker's Union, the autoworkers, etc.

There's no real scrutiny of our publik school systems on anything these days, let alone sexual abuse. Really? My kids' schools require a background check on all parent volunteers. Before I can begin my student teaching, I must have a background check and somewhere in the process (of being hired) I'm going to be fingerprinted.
Anyone without a record is going to fall through the cracks, but what else would you have them do?
