Bush's comments that he "loathes" North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and calling him a "pygmy" do not bode well for statesmanlike negotiations, or any negotiations.

When and where did President Bush make the comment, attributed to him above? Can someone name a verifiable source for this supposed statement?

My bet is that China's business sense will throw Kim to the wolves. He could become very expensive.

Even if the author likes four character combinations, I think that goetsudoushuu might be one that he should reconsider -- and reject. His thesis is that somehow China and Japan have a common problem in North Korea is incorrect in my opinion: North Korea is clearly these days a standard border state that directs its barking at China's enemies, and never at the Middle Kingdom. China is not losing face by failing to rein in Kim in my estimation.

This whole article stinks because Asia Times knows full well that NK is China and Russia's "rabid dog". The very same gang that provided and continues to supply weaponry to mid-east terrorists (witness Afghanistan) and nuclear weapon technology to rogue Islamo-Facist states including Iran. That's just for starters.
So? What is this smoke-screen of asian inscrutability really about?

North Korea is a runnig dog for the PRC. Kim is crazy, but he doesn't do a whole lot more or less, IMHO, than what the leadership in the PRC demands and expects. He is another asymetrical tool in their armament to wield against the west in general and the US specifically (like their clandestine funding and arming of radical islam).
