Another Crack at Kerry (Jerome Corsi and Free Republic mentioned)
Washington Post ^ | January 28, 2005 | Jonathan Finer

Posted on 01/28/2005 6:37:43 AM PST by AmericanMade1776

First he helped torpedo John F. Kerry's presidential campaign by pronouncing the Massachusetts Democrat "Unfit for Command" in a book, subtitled "Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry," that he co-wrote last year.

Now insurance broker Jerome Corsi says he is taking aim at a different target: Kerry's Senate seat.

Does anyone really believe that the mASSachusettes voters will actually elect Corsi? Too many liberals IMO.

""I plan to move to Massachusetts later this year and to run against John Kerry in 2008," said Corsi, 58, who is a managing partner at the U.S. Financial Marketing Group and lives in Denville, N.J. "I plan to begin working with the Republican Party to see if I am the candidate they want."

There are plenty of nice spots to live in Massachusetts besides Boston, try Sudbury, Concord, Lexington, or Hopkinton.

Corsi, who is not a military veteran, teamed up with former naval officer John O'Neill to write "Unfit for Command," which focused attention on Kerry's Vietnam War service record. But just before the book went on sale, Corsi apologized for inflammatory postings about Muslims, Catholics and the pope that he made a year earlier on the Free Republic Web site. "That is old news," Corsi said in a telephone interview this week. "First of all, as I have stated many times, they were written to be provocative, to stimulate debate, not as my true beliefs."

State Democratic Party Chairman Phil Johnston told the Boston Herald, which first reported Corsi's intentions, "Carpetbaggers spreading lies and smears are not welcome in our state."

I travel alot to Massachusetts on business, and ONLY because I have to. I do not even mention I am a conservative while there --- just too many blatantly obvious libs, reminds me of a mini-New York.

I lived in Massachusetts for nearly 20 years, moved away one year ago to the South, I know the political climate well there. Even went to Mitt Romney's inauguration. :-)

Worse yet, Uncle Ted is carrying the anti-war banner with sKerry. I'm hearing more echos of Vietnam from the MSM every day.

Bill Weld almost beat Kerry in 1996. Kerry's a lousy politician, and vulnerable to a strong Republican challenger.

But Corsi? With all those anti-Catholic/anti-Semitic rumors? No chance. And he also seems to be doing out because he's out for revenge, rather than because he wants to represent people of MA.

Let's get a real candidate to challenge Kerry.

Kerry's weaker by his failed presidency run. Maybe the liberals in Massachusetts will turn their backs, or is that too much to hope for?

I have two questions.

1. Coming up to Mass. to go after Kerry is tilting at windmills (windbags :). Why doesn't Corsi run in NJ?

2. When Corsi posted the allegedly inflammatory comments on FR, did he do so under his own name? If not, how was his screen name made public?
