EDMOND, Okla. -- A University of Central Oklahoma student group is planning what it calls "Straight Pride Week" on campus.
Members of the College Republicans said despite objections from some, they have every right to celebrate.
"The general gist is that if you are a straight student on campus be proud, be loud, this is your time to shine," said college Republican Kyle Houts.
The group has posted fliers on campus that read, "we're here, we're conservative, we're out."
Members of the Gay Alliance for Tolerance and Equality say they consider the College Republican's celebration an attack on gay and lesbian students.

There's nothing wrong with being straight. They were born that way and they just want to celebrate Heterosexuality. </sarcasm>
LOL. At least it exposes the GATE as having no sense of humor whatsoever.
If the straight students ever stage "an attack on gay and lesbian students" they will be holding their press conference in the Emergency Room.

So any city that has a "Gay Pride" parade is "attacking" heterosexuals?
I just want pictures to prove they are hetro!!!
Some months ago, a radio station in my area held a "Straight Pride Parade." The gay activists in my class went absolutely nuts. Apparently straight individuals are not aloud to be proud of their heterosexuality.
That is correct.
There is a survey on the linked site. As of now the results are:
Which is the closest to how you feel about the College Republicans' "Straight Pride Week" Celebrations?
Good for them 2538 56%
They are being discriminating 238 5%
I don't mind it because it 758 17%
just makes them look bad
Neither "Gay Pride Week" nor 1003 22%
"Straight Pride Week" should
be observed
This week kicks off the central Ohio "Regular Guy Pride Week" here in Columbus.
That's right!
We're going to be meeting each evening at Hooters on Rt. 161 in the North end.
We're planning excursions to Dockside Dolls and Humidor Plus as well as some possible trips to White Castle and Waffle House.
It should be a fun week
Tell your boss you have the flu and join us for some "No' Ma'am" style fun!
We should have more "straight pride" demonstrations.
They just want to celebrate their sexual identity. What's the problem?
BTTT

Pride for me, but not for thee?
"What is there to say about it, 'I'm proud, and I'm straight and I guess white,' I don't know?" said GATE member Jennifer Rodriguez.
That's what's called bringing out absurdity by being absurd. This idiot just made the point for the Republicans: What's to be proud about regarding "gay pride"?
...and what's that snide remark about being white? Are all gays this bigoted?
What's the matter? Can't celebrate "diversity"? Can't embrace the "lifestyle choice" of others? Why are you so heterophobic?
lol... I was born that way
"What is there to say about it, 'I'm proud, and I'm straight and I guess white,' I don't know?" said GATE member Jennifer Rodriguez. "I think they definitely are being discriminatory because there's probably a lot of gay Republicans out there."
If anybody can find any kernal of coherence in this statement, please offer a translation.
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
Sounds good to me.
So a "Straight Pride" week is an attack against lesbians and gays (sic)?
Pretty weird they can say that with a straight face/no pun intended.
Let me and DirtyHarryY2K know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
Here are some of mine:
Oklahoma ping!
Thanks! Where ya been?
Wal-mart. We have a winter storm advisory for the weekend, although there's nothing but cold (upper 30's) going on so far.
"Damn breeders how dare they enjoy their sexuality.. don't you know thats only for us sodomites?" Bigala Chapter president was overheard lamenting.
Ah! (slipping on my Carnac hat) I see large pots of minestrone being made. It is rainy and dreary here. I have to haul in more firewood. D is in Arkansas and they are colder than we are. I have been praying there is no ice on the bridges since he is hauling a 40 trailer with 2 giant McCormick tractors on it.
Wow, best wishes to D! You read my mind ... we're making minestrone in the crockpot tomorrow, as soon as we finish eating up the Alarming Election Chili left from yesterday :-).
According to the DU this is just a cover for a "white" pride week. Their paranoia and imagination know no bounds.
Straight Pride Week College PING.....
Finally, some common sense - - - - - if the ACLU will keep their mouths shut and stay out of the kids' business.
I love my crockpot. I make the best chicken noodle soup in it.
Check out this site for recipes: http://www.recipezaar.com/
I went with D the other day to drop off a big Kubota tractor and pick up an ancient one in Seneca. I now completely understand why he is so tired and dirty when he gets home. He eats like a horse now, too. I always cook enough for your brood, so I have a lot fewer leftovers now!
??????????
I suppose there are a few straight DemocRATS out there, too.
So they must be discriminatory?
I really do believe that liberals have a screw loose, if you'll pardon the expression. After all, I wouldn't want to be accused of being discriminatory against screws.
snip...So any city that has a "Gay Pride" parade is "attacking" heterosexuals?
What they won't admit to is that in their minds heterosexuals deserve to be attacked. After all, if it weren't for the existence of heterosexuality, "gays" wouldn't feel 'different, excluded, hurt, etc". It's all our fault, therefore we should be made to suffer.
All attempts to assuage their deep-seated guilt. Regardless of the cause or the depth of their homosexual desires and/or beliefs, I honestly think homosexuals know deep inside that its wrong. Many of their bizarre behaviors are simply projection and other manifestations of that guilt.
(This concludes todays amateur psychologist minute. Thanks for watching.)

Hehe funny stuff. I'm sure the overly sensitive libs will be up in arms that a majority group would have the audacity to have a sense of humor and celebrate anything.
If gays can celebrate their sexuality in public why on earth can't straights?
That would be fun.
Congratulations on having so many good kids.
It's really funny that these CR's are sticking it to the PC sissies, but I have a question for the Gay Pride movement.
What's with all this Pride? The homosexuals say that they had no choice and all. How can one be proud of something they have no control over? What's the point? You don't see me running around yelling "Look at me! I'm stunningly handsome, and dashing!"
Thanks!
Or even better, would everyone please "celebrate" (or whatever you do with your sexuality) in PRIVATE?
I don't care what people say. Those people who have big families and raise them responsibly are among the greatest assets to our society. It's those who aren't responsible who are a drain.
As a school teacher, I LOVE dealing with large families. I love having siblings of previous students because their parents are so easy to deal with then.
LOL - my brother and I don't look a bit alike, and we have a common last name, so most teacher didn't know we were related :-).
The cashier in Wal-mart when the kids and I went shopping earlier said she was one of twelve children. That's not unusual for people 45 and older around here. Wandering around during the day with seven kids, I'm often approached by older people from large families who want to tell their stories.
Say it out loud, "I'm straight and I'm proud!"
ping!
Crock Pot!!
Used mine today in preparation for "The Great Georgia Ice Storm"!!
Great recipe, my family makes me whip up a batch just about every week. Creamy Italian chicken and noodles....
So share, already! I'm getting iced in here. ; )
