Christian Science Monitor ^

German intelligence operatives listened to two terrorists discuss ways to obtain uranium to make a dirty bomb in order to kill as many Americans as possible, according to a knowledgeable European official. The agents heard them recruit suicide bombers from Germany's well-established Muslim community to send to Iraq. They overheard plots to cheat companies out of life insurance benefits to pay for their illicit activities. The two, arrested on Sunday, are known only as Ibrahim Mohamed K., an Iraqi national who lived in Mainz, Germany, and Yasser Abu S., a Palestinian medical student living in Bonn.

I'm trying to get into medical school in Germany. The Pal who has it, because he is a Pal and a non-european foreigner who gets special treatment, junks it and plots to kill those who helped him get it in the first place. How nice of him.

"took out as many as five life-insurance policies. According to the European official, Yasser Abu S intended to travel to Egypt and fake his death in a car accident so his wife could collect the life insurance - more than $800,000."

"This is a new way of fundraising for terrorist movements," the European official says. "We have not seen this before."

---- Nefarious, devious, and totally despicable!

These guys didn't exactly invite this insurance trick...its been around for years. You always select a third world guy living in Germany for a couple of years...stable lifestyle...and you fix up a $500k to $1m policy. He is pronounced dead in Brazil, with stamped death certificates...gets half of the money...and his buddy who arranged everything gets the other half. There are dozens of cases like this each month in Germany...very few get figured out and the insurance companies have to spend at least $20k in investagation costs to prove it was a bogus deal.
